Hi all, I was having some odd symptoms, so I went to my LLMD in mid-December. At the appointment he took blood for a smear. He suspected Babs, so he prescribed Mepron - 2 tsps BID and replaced tindamax (one BID) with Bactrim (two BID). I am to continue taking Doxy (one BID) and Rifampim (two once per day), so my current cocktail is mepron, bactrim, rifampim and doxy. I started the mepron and bactrim on Dec 19. Blood smear confirmed Babs on Dec 23. I feel really down and crazy lately and having air hunger and just a very blue mood. I feel a little disconnected from my body at times. For example, I can be holding something in my left hand, but am confused with how to move my hand if I try to do something else with the hand holding something. It's just an odd feeling. I'm three weeks into the new cocktail, new being the addition of Bactrim and Mepron. My doctor mentioned that the Herx could be bad and that I may want to do just one tsp instead of two - I'm assuming BID. I don't know if I should cut back something or just push through this with the help of Xanax (low mg 0.25). I feel like Xanax could help me feel better, but am not sure. I'm not even sure what I need. I feel like I just need to cry. Thanks for reading.
