I am just thinking that my hormonal imbalance (low progesterone and estrogen dominance) is the missing "link" in my candida treatment. I have read quite a few studies on the internet about how progesterone inhibits the genes of candida, while estrogen fuels it's growth. My doctor is convinced otherwise and won't give me the progesterone she plans on prescribing me until I get rid of my candida overgrowth.
Problem is, is that I am on a strict anti-candida diet with probiotics and digestive enzymes, more than one anti fungal, amongst other things... My candida was getting better to a point and has now stopped and I am not seeing any progress. It actually flares up and calms down as my hormones fluctuate throughout my cycle.
Does anyone have any experience with bioidentical progesterone and candida?
