herxed on A-L Complex, A-BART, A-P

I had been treated for Lyme Disease and Bartonella. I did 3 months of oral antibiotics and was on a basic drainage kit and 3 byron white herbs: A-L, A-BART, A-P. I have herxed before but really didn't understand it nor did anyone give me warning of herx reactions. I would feel some lower stomach pains at times but I was feeling that I really licked this lyme. I never felt better. I was told to increase those 3 herbals up to 10 drops each twice a day. I was hesitant but did increase but not up to 10 drops each and I ended up collapsing with blood pressures under 65 and ended up in the hospital. It effected my heart, my leg, and my eye. I now have eye damage but was told the lyme was all shook up and the IV would clear my eye. We tried all shorts of things after that but my eye is truly damaged. It is so frustrating dealing with traditional doctors and integrative doctors you don't know who to believe. After the hospital experience I was told to back off these herbals by the prescribing doctor but the damage was already done. Does anyone have any negative effects from herbals? I was being treated for 3 years since and now realizing I have herbal damage and upset the doctor finally pulled me off of almost everything and I already feel better but the damage is done. The doctors who help you are first concerned with people suing them and no possible accountability that this could have happened do to no long term studies of side effects. I know these did it to me. As far as I know herbals or at least most aren't FDA approved. Anyone have a story?

Welcome ...i didnt think bw was that strong ...bactrim damaged my nerves ..i though i was gunna go blind ..er called it disseminated cmv ..i think it is bart ..nerves can heal ...i dont believe either camp ..one doesnt give 2 crapz and rhe the other lines their pockets ..i am on 20 drops 2x a day of a bart ..and some rifampin and iv ...i also found that i have toxiplasmosis or proto and bactrim and herbal probably just pissed it off...have you tested for that ..are you symptom free? ..my eyes are much better after 1 yr of bvt and mangosteen ...still night vision damage and twitching ...its so hard to find the line ...

My symptoms for lyme don't exist which is good. I did igenix. I had a lot of other things; epstein barr but don't feel I had it, CMV, mold toxins, heavy metals lead 10, mercury 5, allium (spelling?). Just annoying that I lost some vision. It all gets complicated and it sounds like you have your fair share. I think it's hard that it takes so long to get through it. I wish you the best.

Before the ER I was on the mc-bfm-1, drainers and 3 herbs, balance oil, PC, and told to increase the herbs to 10 drops each twice a day. When this happened to me I got up to 6/7 drops each. I wasn't on antibiotics at that time. I was about 3 months free of antibiotics. After I collapse and went to ER I went to cardiac and was told I had a right branch blockage but later my cardiologist said a lot of people have that. OK, now more trips to the cardiologist to make sure we are ok. Then my one eye got blurry and I couldn't read with that eye (still have trouble) and can't make out my face well as you look in the mirror, then driving I use to always say if it was in both eyes I couldn't drive. A few days after it happened my right knee gave out and then I went on vacation a few days later and I had to get a cane and knee brace but why go to the ER again, I was already told that these herbs can do this and we see this in the ER. I felt my eye was damaged but I had hopes that the lyme that got shook up would eventually clear. I knew of another man who had a problem and his did clear. What I didn't realize was that my legs were so swollen when I thought it was a cheap knee brace I bought that was too tight. It would fit fine now. It took a lot out of me. I was told from my prescribing doctor that this shouldn't happen but that it shook up the bacteria. I take that as a herx and it did feel like that from past experience just severe this time. Oh, for a long time after that my family kept getting mad at me because I kept asking the same thing and didn't recall that I already got an answer. Then I always misplaced things and my husband got me a call alarm for my keys to find them. So the new protocol after it happened was reducing the herbs in half, and adding Ceftin and Zithromax, and a-cm. about 2 months later I went on IV antibiotics and she said it would clear my eye but never did. Then it seemed something was always wrong as I complained about my vision. Then the infections, molds, PC (this one helped improve it), They wanted me to do IV with PC but I didn't feel comfortable with fats injected and then with molds they wanted an IV type of thing to take the blood out and put it under ultraviolet light and back in you but after my ER experience it was hard to do. Then I did heavy metals and Spectracell nutrition test. This doctor means well and is knowledgeable but stuff does happen regardless. Hard not to be down or obsessed with vision that is different in my world. My vision is now 20 40 with correction. And as I said the PC that was added with other ingredients as a shake a year later in which bloodwork was done and the amount of PC was doubled, did help bring some vision back but it's also slipping. Vision of 20 50 and you can't drive a car. Just feel let down. We never expect this to happen.
