I'm not sure what strain I have but I was living in the Mideast when I got sick. I didn't have joint pain at first. But after being undiagnosed for several years I started to get pain in my smaller joints.

I was finally diagnosed here in the U.S. I pushed it into remission for a few years with IV rocephin followed by oral antibiotics. Amoxicillin azithromycin and Flagyl.

This time around, antibiotics are not doing anything. Probably because of bio film. I have being doing the buhner herbal protocol. It seems to be working well. For neuro symptoms I take Gou Teng.

Gou teng gives me a headache and pain down the back of my neck into my shoulders from the die off. I think the borrelia in my brain was worse than I expected. If you try Gou Teng, go slow. I did and I still had a terrible headache the next morning.

I'm telling you, I just started Gou Teng and it punches hard. I have my husband behind me encouraging to keep hitting the lyme (he really believes no pain no gain!) Otherwise I might get discouraged and stop. This is the herb that Buhner suggests for Neuro lyme. But I suggest you get the book and read and if you are so minded, try the main lyme protocol with the gou teng.

Getting this disease in another country, I do not have the typical co infections. However, I do have some Cpn and had CMV and HV6. Buhners book will help.

I am being treated for Neuro-Lyme. First, I have taken 300 mg Doxycycline/day. Added in most of Buhners core protocol at the same time. I also added Salvia miltorrhiza, Scutellaria baicalensis,Tryptohan,selenium,
Sida Acuta,and Uncaria tomentosa. That was for 4 months.
Now I have stopped Doxycycline. Started Azithromycin(250 mg) and Malarone (250-100 Tab UD 2X/day) and have also continued on the Herbal protocols above.
I plan to add Uncaria rhynchophylla soon.
May I ask what is your interest? You stated you were not infected. Never been to Asia, however it holds great importance for me. It is where Falconry began. Sincerely, Jo

either one can cause the neuro-lyme.
