My husband just received his Igenex results, he has possible very mild symptoms and has lived lyme endemic areas his entire life, and I have chronic lyme and co, bulls eye rash, Labcorp Pos and Igenex Pos.
His results are:
IgM: 39-Ind, 41+, 66+
IgG: 31-Ind, 41+
Do you think these results indicate Lyme?

Are these Igenex test results?
When you say he has mild symptoms, that is the tattletale of lyme more than any test.
Some people have negative lyme tests, but all the symptoms. Symptoms are the more definitive diagnosis.

yes they are igenex results
his symptoms include minor fatigue and neck and back pain, but he has a pinched nerve in his shoulder so that would explain the neck and back pain. the fatigue is only maybe once every couple of weeks but is usually after he has spent 2 days in the woods chopping down trees. he is not a young man anymore, i would think that much physical labor would make anyone fatigued. those seem to be his only symptoms

Yes, they do indicate a Lyme infection.
Band 31, while somewhat controversial, should be considered Lyme specific. Some may want to do a second test for Band 31 (sorry, I'm not really awake yet, so I don't remember the name of the test!) to confirm it's from Borrelia.
Band 66 can be from Tick-borne Relapsing Fever (Borrelia hermsii), generally in the Western US.
Band 39 is a Lyme specific band, indicating Osp A.
An IgM result means that the person has an active infection. It once was thought to mean an 'early' infection, but has since been revised. IgG means that the infection is at a later stage.
IND means indeterminate - not negative, but not quite strong enough to be "fully positive". But it means that you reacted on those bands and should be considered, especially when they are Lyme specific bands.
A "Lyme specific band" means specific for Borrelia Burgdorferi, sensu stricto - Lyme disease in the strictest sense. There is only
one
on the over 300 known strains of Lyme that is considered Bb, ss. Nothing else will turn a Lyme specific band positive other than Lyme disease.

Oh no! Well, maybe you can get him to just not drink/eat so much of it for starters?? He may see that it helps him feel a bit better and will be a more willing patient at that point????
Does he go to your appt's with you? You could just talk to your doc about
squeezing him in so that the doc can be the one to explain it to him - then you can get an appt just for your hubby??

The extra Igenex test for band 31 is called the Eptiope test.
It costs $100.
My husband had the test done and it came back positive.
But, i'm not sure if they do it on an IND result on band 31 - maybe only on a + result.
..it's to test if band 31 is indeed from Lyme (not to change the IND to a + )
