I've been struggling with my ALT being out of range for the past 7 months.

Was hovering around 70, but has got worse and is now currently at 83 and I'm off meds till it drops.

Been taking the following for liver detox:

- pekana apo-hepat,
- ALA,
- milk thistle,
- NAC,
- Vit c,

Any other ideas to help detox the liver?

hmmm not that I know of..hopefully someone else will be of help.

It should go down now that you're off the meds...mine went down within a few weeks.

Iv glutithione ...i hear milk thistle can seal infection in the liver if thats the cause ...bart guru pushes past this with treatment ..if it was caused by babs med then ya should be temp

I have heard same about milk thistle - it can cause problems for some people. I did take a break from it, but ALT still remained highish. I'm temped to break from it again to see if it's causing problems.

Not sure what your last comment says, can you elaborate?

Darn, now I am reminded and even angrier that my Internist did not include my request for Liver enzyme check in the lab testing I called and asked for. I made a mistake by thinking everything would be including in a "full blood panel", and I was very wrong.

I get monthly CBC, liver and kidney function tests.


(although the last time she renewed my standing order...she forgot about the kidney function tests)

Have you tried cruciferous vegetables juice? It helps a lot.

Do you make your own, do you cook it first prior to juicing?

Yes, I make it on my own. I don't cook it, because my juicer extracts only the juice, and the rest remains, so it is easy on stomach.

When you try it for the first time, don't take a lot, because body needs time to get used to it, it is powerful juice.

I've been bugging his nurse for months to be tested. It's been since last March....she finally sent down the orders, I fasted for 12 hours(longer by the time I got in) for my A1c, and was told they were only supposed to check red and white blood cell counts. mad
