Coinfection questions

I've been struggling with what has apparently been a post viral fatigue now since September 2016. I've been too sick to work at my job as a health care professional and off on disability leave.  I've tested high for epstein barr igg antibodies and assumed that was making me sick. This came 2 months after a brutal case of shingles on my forehead.  It adds up to post viral or chronic fatigue. I'll recite the litany of symptoms in reply later if that matters.

My pcp has been puzzled and paralyzed because my cbc and metabolic panels are perfect. ANA and CRP were negative. Normal sed rate. He doesn't know whether the ebv test means anything.  So I went to a naturopath who persuaded me to get tested for Lyme  after my condition improved, then worsened and I started losing weight (165-->145lbs).  Results from labcorp and quest came back negative but at least were covered by insurance. My friend had undiagnosed Lyme years ago and kindly offered to set up a go fund me page so I could get the igenex tests. My ND means well but he's not ilads and doesn't seem super Lyme literate.

here's the igenex results :
Lyme Igm bands 31 and 41 positive,  23-25 indeterminate.
Lyme igg band 41 positive.

Babesiosis duncani
FISH whole blood is  positive
Igm 80, (negative < 20)
Igg <40 (negative <40)

Bartonellosis b henslae
Igm 80 (negative <40)
Igg 40 (negative <40)

So my questions are:
1. Can I have bab and Bart without Lyme?
2. Is that Lyme likely false negative?
3. Are bab and bart likely false positive?

The ND started me on doxycycline and artesiminin (worm wood) yesterday. I'm not sure that's the rx recommended by llmd's

31 is specific to Borrelia Burgdorferi. It wouldn't react to anything else.


Indeterminate on 23-25 don't mean negative, they mean some antibodies were found, but not enough to warrant a CDC positive standard.

Those, with 31 pos and your symptoms are enough considering how inefficient the current testing methods are.

In the intro, pay particular attention to detoxing and the reasoning behind it, as well as the section into the next page on Candida/yeast overgrowth problems and the benefits of using good probiotics, especially while on antibiotics, to protect your gut flora.

Welcome davey sorry yes what girlie said is right ...band 41 means flagella and your babs and bart test is positive ...

likely your immune system is so suppressed the herp ebv cmv is running amok .
i suggest lysine post hast to stop replication. ..
also the venom of honey bees gets viruses and bacteria..

i hear babs falls pretty easy with plasma rife...the wormwood will need to be pulsed and doxy may put lyme on pause until you can figure out a real treatment plan..?

Do the igm Vs igg numbers give any indication of how recent my infection is? With viruses anyway, igm titers only show up during acute infection. Is the same true with these bugs?

As far as I can tell, first s/s of Lyme were either shingles in July or my total meltdown in September. I did have a rough bout of insomnia fall 2015 but it resolved spontaneously by February and I felt at the top of my game all spring and early summer til the Dreadful shingles wrecked me.

I asked my ND to order the cd57 test from labcorp as that supposedly does tell whether it's an old vs a recent infection. Could those cd57 numbers be low even though my wbc is smack in the middle of the reference range?

I've been treating whatever I have as if it were chronic fatigue syndrome, similar regimen for Lyme it seems. Being meticulous about diet, not quite paleo. Little to no processed foods, grass fed meats, organic vegetables, goat Kefir, sauerkraut, Kimchi, amaranth, quinoa, yams, winter squash, no wheat, no corn, no soy. I sure do look forward to some kc barbecue ribs and oven roasted French fries with lots of ketchup 😃
Also resting most all the time so as to avoid push-crash cycles. Daily dry brushing, lots of meditation, etc......
Pretty much house bound though I do drive myself to appointments and the occasional trip to rite aid.

I have found a combo of theanine, taurine, and glycine to be very helpful calming the anxiety which was thru the roof for the first 3 months. Wish I'd found that sooner. I've tried numerous sleep aids and now using liquid doxepin which I just started a week ago. I really gave a good old college try to all the natural remedies as well as ambien, temazepam, Tylenol pm. Looks like I may need to increase the doxepin dose. Not thrilled with the side effects on a measly 3mg per nite.
