Wife has had this flu for about 2 weeks now and i ve had it for the last 4 days. It seems we have the same thing. Running nose headache, coughing up phlegm, probably some fever, night sweats, watering eyes etc.
In talking with her, she feels that all we should do to fight this thing is drink lots of fluids, get lots of rest, and let nature run its course and the body will naturally heal from this malady. It has not worked for her for over 2 weeks now. I am doing the same but i feel that i should do more than just drink chicken broth, lemon water, specialty teas, and go soak and sweat in the hot pool for 2 hours every morning. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of this bug and then get back to fighting lyme and company properly?
2+ weeks with no relief seems a bit much to me. Are you sure she isn't re-infecting herself somehow? Have you bought new toothbrushes, etc.,?
The fever shows the body is still fighting, as does the phlegm(which I dislike with a vengeance). If it is a strep infection it make take more intervention. Like abx. Have either of you been swabbed?
Don't know how run down/fatigued your wife is, but another consideration is mono.
