Those, who are treating lyme and bartonella at the same time - what is the best combination for treatment?

Treating for the same.

ABX or herbal, do you have a preference?

I used herbs only, but you need to remember, what works for one doesn't work for all. So keep an open mind.

Do antibiotics even really get at bartonella effectively? It seems so stealth against them.

I am starting to think that mites are not my problem and that bartonella is. No one else in the house is getting bitten by anything. My 'bite marks' are not continuous at all, as they just sometimes happen to appear. Everytime I go off of Ivermectin or Fluconazole the formication and insane itch return.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I will elaborate in another.

Well, I can tell you that there are those that do clear their Bart infections with abx only. I just don't know enough about abx to intelligently contribute to any conversation about them.

If you're wanting abx protocols for bart:

The fluoroquinolones are thought to be the most effective...but many LLMD's do not prescribe because they come with the black box warning - for risk of tendon rupture...and more recently risk of peripheral neuropathy that could be permanent.
Some LLMD's don't prescribe it...except as a last resort.

Next is Rifampin - combined with another abx. - minocycline, biaxin, azithromycin, biaxin, bactrim.
Some LLMD's are now prescribing Rifabutin (same class as Rifampin) - but it is more expensive than Rifampin.

Bactrim DS combined with another antibiotic is sometimes used. I don't think this one is as effective as the others.

Rifampin, mino, and plaquenil reduced my infection load and got me to 90% at one time. I was also taking Cats Claw, Jap Knotweed, CSA Blend, and GSE. Weaned off the ABX and stayed with herbals for maintenance, but quickly relapsed.

Hey Girlie,

In the past month or so my major sx have reduced to minimum levels. Saw my LLMD two weeks ago and reported the improvement for the first time since my relapse. Based on that she don't want to change anything for a while.

For ABX still pulsing Ceftin and Bactrim 2 wks on and 2 wks off. Cat's Claw, Jap Knotweed and Hout are still staples, but stopped CSA to allocate $$ to other items.

I've really upped the anti virals with Famvir Rx, and adding Takuna, Lomatium, and taking Colloidal Silver more regularly.

Last week labs were to re-test all the virals that were off the charts last August. Maybe the antivirals are helping to knock them back. I can't wait to read the report and compare. Then we'll see.

Bee venom ,propolis ,riffy zith and sida here ...better than last year...

chx arise ..thanks for finally considering this ..i think you may have bart bacciliformis and its is a doozy....
