Looking for LLMD near Chicago/NW Suburbs and Holistic suggestions

Girlie will be on later, she has the Illinois LLMD's. It's always advisable to get on the waiting list, and then call frequently to check on cancellations. Many times this has gotten patients in much sooner.

Stephen Buhner's herbal protocols have been used by many, and some have found success. He puts emphasis on remodulation of the body before killing the bacteria, though parts of the core protocol do both.

Not everyone that gets healed report back and let us know, and now we are being told that one LLMD has asked that the person's method not be reported on line, but I would hazard a guess that is likely antibiotic therapy anyway.



Do you have symptoms of Lyme and or co-infections?

Your symptoms are very common to Lyme. Weight gain is mentioned less than weight loss, but the gain is something I share with you. My metabolism changed dramatically with my last relapse, as it had with my initially getting infected. However I think the gain was also related to my sudden drop in physical activity, even though my appetite also tanked, so I think there is a little of both.

I have another thread with the Igenex results. IgG was positive (CDC neg).

I have symmetrical muscle pain in hamstrings and upper arms. Legs are very twitchy at night. I've had a twitch on and off under one eye. Cold hands and feet, waking with numb hands (which could be carpal tunnel I'm told). I sometimes get a pulse sensation in arm or leg. I get tired more easily, and I've been struggling with weight gain.

I've stopped most activity because it hurts too much afterwards. Yesterday I took our 20lb puppy for a walk and he was pulling some, not the whole time, and pain was very bad during the evening and night.

Polymyalgia is similar to fibromyalgia but affects the muscles rather than the joints, I believe.

Polymyalgia is not really like fibromyalgia. Fibro does affect the muscles.

Polymyalgia treatment is steroids until it goes into remission...which is contraindicated when you have lyme disease.

Hi Girlie - I did get your list. One of the dr's charges $850 for initial exam and that's the one that is 3-4 months out.

My mother had polymyalgia but I don't know much about it. Both of my hamstrings get very sore, especially after rest or climbing stairs. My upper arms have become so sore I can't raise them above my shoulders. I have various twitches that come and go. I would think the symmetrical pain narrows it down, but I guess not.

I don't think symmetrical symptoms rules out Polymalgia...because that is how it presents.

BUT, what you should be looking at is your positive Igenex test result.
I would not take the steroid treatment for polymyalgia...if it's offered..

What kind of blood work is being done for polymylagia? I think it's inflammation markers...(I looked that ailment up when I was trying to diagnose what was wrong with me) - Thing is...those can also be from Lyme disease.
Inflammation often shows up in testing.

The one thing that I was concerned with is temporary arteritis...which sometimes occurs with PR

I had way too many other symptoms for it to be PR.

I think another way of diagnosing it is ruling out other ailments.

You DO have a positive lyme test....remember that...
