I posted several others about what is going on with my body the more I look into it seems it my adrenal glands can anyone over the best treatment for adrenal gland problems

First thing you need to do is to test your cortisol output with a 4 point saliva test. If your doctor won't order one for you, you may be able to order one online. I just don't know if they ship overseas, as they are based in the US I believe. Trying to treat adrenal issues when there aren't any can really mess up the adrenals, so you want to be sure that you actually need to support them first.

My doctor want to do a blood test and see if something comes up is a blood test not good enough traveler

No, a blood test will only show a "picture in time" of what your cortisol levels are - this is not good enough to determine if your cortisol is correct in the other parts of the day - which is why a 4 point saliva test is so good. Saliva is collected 4 times during the day - upon rising from bed, noon, mid afternoon and just before bed. This gives the best full day picture possible - unless a 24 hour urine collection is done - but I'm not sure of the accuracy of urine testing for cortisol.

If your cortisol is fine during the morning, but stays at the level for the entire day, it would explain your not sleeping, but the blood test (generally taken in the mornings) won't show that at all - it will only show that your cortisol levels at the time of the blood draw.

Liamb, I noticed they do have ways to do this if you are in Europe.

Find Adrenal fatigue test on the list, click on that, then click on the "How It Works" option, and then where you see in color "European category, then click on Thyroid, and then choose Adrenal thyroid our of those choices.


You do not need to choose a lab for a draw, because you do the saliva 4 time collection in your home throughout the day.

July, I know there are one or two other labs that you can order some of these tests (or maybe all of them?) from as well - I just don't remember them! LOL! I'm sure others will be along soon to post those as well though.

I took a look at the True Health lab test...and I didn't see where it said if it did test 4 points of the day.
It did mention saliva, though...so hopefully.

Do either of you know if it does want 4 samples taken?


(I may have missed something)

If it doesn't, liamb could contact them and ask.

EDIT: I did find where it said 4 tests - different times of day....

I did a 4 point saliva cortisol last summer, and I was low at all 4 times of day.
I also had low DHEA.

I re-tested after using adrenal cortex and ashwagandha for 3 months, but it made no difference.

My LLMD then put me on prescription Cortef (hydrocortisone) and I added a low dose DHEA supplement.

I noticed an increase in morning energy getting out of bed, but it wasn't really much of a problem before.

It didn't change any of my symptoms though.

I haven't re-tested since. I'd need to be off the medication for a few days, and I don't know if my adrenals are ready to hold their own yet.
