Thanks. Yeah she explained all the different bands to me and what they mean. She is just retesting the IgG I think. Because that's the one that is supposed to show a more acute or recent infection right? That's the one that had those bands. I think she wanted to just go ahead and test again because she wanted to test for the coinfections as well. I don't know.
I am hoping for a stronger response this go around. She said that if 31 or 39 was positive, then I'd be considered CDC positive. I thought that was interesting. Maybe it will help with getting meds and stuff covered by insurance. Most of my labwork was billed through insurance thankfully!
I took half the dose of blue sage and silphirton (spelling?) last night with my magnesium and other herbs and I slept without sleep meds for the first time in ages?! That's kind of a miracle! And best of all, those tinctures have zero taste! I was so scared they'd be another foul concoction I'd have to choke down! lol!
Thanks everyone. I'd go crazy(er) without all you folks here!
IgM is generally considered the acute/recent infection (not IgG)...but with lyme it can stay for weeks/months/years and not seroconvert to the IgG. (like other diseases)
So, we consider IgM an 'active' infection.
You need more than 31 or 39 to be CDC positive.
From their website: IgM - CDC positive if 2 of following bands are present: 23-25, 39, and 41kDa
For IgG: if 5 of the following 10 bands are present: 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 39, and 41, 45, 58, 66 and 83-93kDa.
I may have gotten it backwards then. I already had 41 positive so she must have been talking about
IgM, if my 39 had been positive. I don't know, I have notes from the appointment but I didn't get all the details and you all know the brain fog issues. lol! I can't remember which one she is retesting.Yes, that makes sense.
