mycoplasma genitalium/hominis?

I have just recently been diagnosed with Lyme, and this has been terrifying for me, because I know the issues Ive been having aren't solely specific to Lyme. For years, I have had chronic UTIs and bladder problems (IC). When I was younger, I was always sick. To keep a long story short, for the past two months, I have had all of the symptoms of an STD severely(including diagnosed BV that will not go away), but testing negative for everything in that sort of panel. Ive gotten to the point where I don't leave my house I'm in so much discomfort and pain. I stumbled across mycoplasma, saying that certain strains have these very symptoms. Its extremely hard to cultivate and test for though, and most people it goes unnoticed. In the meantime, I had blood work done, finding lyme. I have had family who have had dealt with lyme for years, so I immediately consoled in them and went to their LLMD. My symptoms have not left still at this point (pelvic pain, urinary pain, gyno issues). She said she's never specifically seen this in Lyme before, and I suggested a co-infection of mycoplasma genitalium/hominis. I have been on doxy 200 2x a day for about a week now to start the Lyme treatment, and now I just took my first dose of moxifloxacin tonight after researching their treatments. This is the last drug left that I haven't tried when beating this mycoplasma species, and Im worried that after my two weeks it will still persist because Lyme and my other co-infections are helping it out.

Are you taking any probiotics? Has anyone said anything about Candida? What is your diet like?

My Naturopath prescribed me Consolidated Wellness Solutions D-Mico formula for my mycoplasma and it cleared it up. It's an herbal product. 10 drops in water/ 2x a day. I know it works because every time I take it, my nerves feel like they are being fried. Lasts about 3 minutes.

A myco from byron white ,bee venom and rife are options ...careful with the floxies ..there is no going back once you have been floxed ...one guy on lymenet did 3 years of those and tetracyclines to get his ...

Don't ignore Mycoplasma. It needs to be treated just like lyme does and can become a chronic infection. One difference about mycoplasma is that to correctly treat it, it needs to be species typed. There are at least 4 pathogenic species: fermentans, pneumoniae, hominis and penetrans and the best antibiotics vary by species. They are very susceptible to floroquinlones.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae
Azithromycin (Zithromax)
Clarithromycin (Biaxin)
Erythromycin
Doxy, Mino, or Tetracycline

Mycoplasma fermentans
Gemifloxacin (Factive)
Clindamycin (Cleocin)
Levofloxacin (Levaquin)
Ciprofloxacin (Cipro)

Mycoplasma hominis
Gemifloxacin (Factive)
Moxifloxacin (Avelox)
Clindamycin (Cleocin)
Levofloxacin (Levaquin)

Mycoplasma penetrans
Levofloxacin (Levaquin)
Clarithromycin (Biaxin)
Azithromycin (Zithromax)
Doxy, Minocycline or Tetracycline

Note that Mycoplasma fermentans is highly resistant to Biaxin and Zithromax.

Aylett - I got it from my Naturopath. You can email me and I'll give you her contact info. You could probably buy it from a Naturopath in your area or call her. I'm out of town so she mails me stuff between visits. Many conventional doctors don't know about herbs, but my LLMD is very progressive. He uses her treatments for all co-infections.

This other product she has me on, Dr. Recommends Fungi-fuge is for Fungal organism detox. When I take that, my toes start burning and my shins go numb and my lower back throbs for about 10 minutes. It sounds crazy. I know.

Apparently, I currently have a systemic fungal/mold infection in my nervous system and had been blaming my neuropathy on Lyme & Co, but its most likely due to the Mycoplasma and Mucor.

Hi Heather and welcome! Have you tried D-Mannose for UTI? Its a sugar alcohol that helps flush the bacteria. I dont know much about Mycoplasma but the people here are really smart and well informed. You came to the right place.

I recently ordered rain tree MYCO that i hope will work. That and I keep reading reports that borax is also very effective so today I bought a whole bunch of borax and it was cheap...

I had ordered some MYCO from RainTree and my old mail forwarding service lost the order. I am really curious how well it works for you.

Use caution with the borax. I was taking up to 3 grams daily and it made my skin itchy and dry. Now I use just 1/4 tsp.
