First off, thank you all for your well wishes! They must have worked! I definitely feel comfortable staying with this dr for treatment!
He is ILADS trained, which must be where I got his name from. He knows Buhner and Cowden protocols but is starting me out with antibiotics and then we will see where we go from there. He had a wonderful, easygoing manner but took over an hour with me to explain things and really get to the bottom of my symptoms.
He tested my BP and pulse in different positions and said I have mild POTS; my pulse increases too fast (but not crazy high). My BP is ok though.
He seems to think Babs and Bart might be an issue. He's starting me on Biaxin which he said works on all three and should help my cognitive issues. After 2-3 weeks on it, if I am not having any issues with liver and kidneys, he will add in something else (I forget).
Before I start the Biaxin, he wants me checked for C. Diff because of my stomach issues. He said I wouldn't respond to abx if I have C.Diff, which I thought was interesting.
He seems to think I am herxing from the Japanese Knotweed. He wants me to stop it for 3-5 days and then start the Biaxin (if no C Diff), Stevia, Laurocidin, and fermented foods. Oh, and Activated Charcoal almost daily.
He also checked my neck and said the muscles are so tight that they actually feel like bone! He seems to think it's the Lyme/herx.
It's so bittersweet....I'm happy to finally feel comfortable with someone and have some real guidance, but the POTS and other complications (and his estimate of 6-12 months of tx) are a little bit of a bummer. Plus, of course, nothing is actually helping me NOW lol

I believe if you have C-Difficile - then you can't take antibiotics - except for the one that treats it...
as more antibiotics would worsen the C-Difficile
I read that Flagyl is the treatment for it.

Thank you!! Like I said, it's still kind of a bummer because I thought I was turning a corner and getting better and then whammo!
He also gave me a B12 shot....I don't know if it's a placebo effect, if my herx is reducing, or if I'm just more relaxed since the appt, but I can move my neck almost all the way!
