I am taking some Jernigan formulations and some nutrimedix herbs. Both brands say to put them in water and let them sit for a minute. Does anyone know what the rationale is for the sitting? ( I hate to admit this but sometimes I get all five herbs set up in five cups with water...walk away for what I think is going to be a minute and come back hours later....having forgotten them.) It would be so much easier for me to just do the recommended drops directly into my mouth - despite the taste. What is the rationale behind letting them sit for a minute? Would it be ok to just place them directly in the mouth?

Also, can the herbs all be placed into one glass OR do they each have to have their own?

Amy, I did Buhner's herbs and I put all the herbs into one glass, added some water (about a jigger full) and chugged them down.

For the Buhner herbs, the rationale for letting them sit was so the alcohol would dissipate.

Many of the Buhner herbs taste horrible to me or they were burn feeling, and the water was to get the tincture off the sides of the glass and for it to go down the throat and not burn on its way down.

A minute in cold water won't do much as far as alcohol dissipating.


So, unless there's another reason...I wouldn't worry about the one minute rule.

Cowden says 1 minute to several days the mix can sit. What nutra herbs are you taking and ill let you know if they can be mixed?

Do we know why he says one minute to several days????? I don't want to reduce the medicinal bene's but want to make sure I get them in...

I think if I were you I'd put them in the water...and not walk away...just wait a minute and take them.

A minute goes by really fast...lol

I would take Purrrsiankitty up on the offer to check for contraindications of the herbs being mixed.
If you click on her name you can email her. She seems to have information about compatibility.

I mix everything together. I would end up barfing if I had to do separate for each one. Just git er done, I say.

Samento and sparga burburpinella and Stevia together

Banderol takuna parsley together


Let me know if you need anything else and
DON'T mix any of the two groups

What is the reason behind not mixing those? Ive had multiple docs say it's fine to mix the banderol and samento. Have done so from day one. Is there a reason behind Cowden saying this or does he just say it with no explanation?

Girlie - with my lack of concentration, I need to tether myself to the herbs to remember for a whole minute!

I wonder about herbs being mixed in the tummy!

Uh oh.. I take
Burbur, Houtt, crypto, Microbojen, and NEUROANTITOC CNS...
Along with berberine, inflamm something (with turmeric ginger etc)
Chlorella,

This will all probably change in 10 days after I see the doctor who never mentions anything about separating herbs...(as usual, the members here seem to have lyme pHDs....!) THere should be some sort of degree like the GED for highschool......but for lifetime experience Lyme literacy!
I do take the Serra on an empty stomach.... Is it ok to down pills with serrapeptase with other supplements or does it have to be a truly empty tummy.....

I think that I need a NANNY (for me!)

I took the serapeptase with nothing else...no other supplements....just water...

the workbook he supplies with the total protocol says to take them separately, one is before breakfast, one before lunch,,,dinner,,,bedtime. Maybe they can???? Just the dosing schedule he provides
