I've always had acid reflux. Eventually a Dr. recommended raising the head of my bed, which took care of that problem.
But Lyme and co., I've had throat problems related to it 'spasming' when I try to drink hot liquids, inability to carry on conversations for more than 20 or 30 minutes without hoarseness setting in.
Thanks July. Did your hoarseness resolve? If so how long did it persist?
My gastritis is resolving nicely, about
80% better. Raised head of bed, Zantac, gas-powered, zinc-carnosine, dgl, and now mastic gum. It got way better when I started the mastic gum. I want to drop the Zantac and gas-x asap. Activated charcoal sounds good but you have to take it 3-4 hours before or after food or other meds, it seems like there's no time for it.
Same with me, though after a 20-30 minute conversation, I go hoarse. More so if I'm drinking hot tea.I think it has, for the most part, though I go without speaking out loud except for infrequent short conversations for the most part. Some days I don't talk to anyone.
It remains changed, much lower, very little ability to 'project' it anymore, with a little 'throatiness' once in awhile. It is not clear and pleasantly sweet like it used to be. It was one of my most attractive qualities to other people, and I don't have it anymore.
ETA:, but not near as bad as what you might call a "smoker's" voice. Like you hear on tv commercials?
