I keep reading about how you need to look for & address mold when you have a lyme diagnosis. What is this first step to test for mold in your home? A home test kit or should I call a professional company?

You should get tested first, unless you have great suspections that your house is moldy. Most houses do have some mold, but it's not always an issue.

My house had water damage... It was repaired. I was tested for mold using 3 tests, all came back within normal range, so all was well..My immune system had gained strength, so perhaps it's fighting off the mold toxins.

Also LabCorp mold tests:

Tgbf1 and c4a are good tests (blood and urine)

And quest lab cd57nk will give an idea of immune system strength.

house tests are crap, IE home depot, Lowe's. Waste of time and money. Better to go professional, but check references, it can be a a scammy industry.

I just recently noticed mold in my house. I bought a HEPA air filter for my room and within 3 days I feel 60% better than I have over the past 5 months. Still working on getting the mold removed. I highly recommend an air filter if the air quality in your room isnt near fresh air quality. It helped me more than anything ive ever done.

I had a professional company come in because I don't trust those take home tests.
THey took air samples and tape samples and found a ton of mold. Which is what I suspected all along.
It was 500 dollars but well worth it. It documented specific strains, the actual mold spore count and a 30 page report.

At a clinic I visited, it was recommended that I take this test (or one like it). I never did. I never thought I had symptoms mold. It is about 5 dollars??? At the time I didn't trust the computer I used.
