Well, apparently four days is my limit. I slowed down my abx and am have been taking 1 pill a day. I was OK (not great, but OK) until last night. Now I feel absolutely awful. Seriously, just one pill of one abx. I'm eventually supposed to take 10 pills, 3 different abx. Should I just keep taking the one pill and power through it or stop altogether? I kind of don't just want to stop, because I think stopping and starting will just make things worse. Oh, and my LLMD's office is closed on Fridays.

Wanted to add that I'm detoxing like crazy - epsom salt baths, dry brushing, Alka Seltzer Gold, liosomal Glutathione, lemon water...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'd drink a ton of water and just lay low. I can't give great advice as I can't for the life of me herx. I'm not sure if that s a good sign or bad sign.

I am not a doctor by any means, so take this advice with caution.

Herxing is hard on the body and I do not think it ever should be looked at as a good thing.

If you listen to your body it is saying "something is off" and that something is the ratio of toxins that are unable to be eliminated.

My advice, remember my disclaimer?, is to stop and get on an even keel before you start again. But this time start with one pill. And the next day only do one pill. Do that for at least 3-4 days before you add in the next pill.

If this does not work, then it is time to call your doctor on Monday. You might not be able to take this abx and you may have to take a different kind. At least you have many alternatives.

That's what I did. I'll make it to the fourth day and then herx like crazy. I'm going to try to email my doc. I know the office is closed on Fridays, but he may answer his emails.

Is anyone in his office? Nurse practitioner? I had called the office and the doctor has called me back.

Have you had any of the gene mutation testing done to show that you have issues with detoxing (MTHFR) done yet? If not, I would suggest it at this point, as that could be an issue for you.

Also, increasing your detoxing further yet may be needed.

It may be that you won't be able to tolerate pharma abx treatments too. Some just don't because the pharma abx kill off too many bacteria (creating too many toxins to deal with by the body) for some people. I hate saying that, but I felt that it's a possibility that can happen.

At this point, a phone call to your LLMD is the best idea though. Let us know what they have to say.

I'm feeling much better now. 24 hours ago, I was curled up in a ball on the bed, sobbing uncontrollably because I was so sick and everything hurt. Hopefully this lasts. Typically, my mornings are worse and I get better as the day goes on, so we'll see how I feel in the am. But right now, I feel pretty darn good. If it stays this way, I'll give it a few days and add in the second pill of my first abx.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for being here when I'm feeling my worst. It really makes a world of difference and reminds me that I am stronger than this disease.

I am so glad you're feeling better! If this happens again, and you don't think you can power through it. Which I don't think you should anyway, don't forget you can take a binder.....2 hours after anything else and 2 hours before anything else...

Activated charcoal, whatever you have in your arsenal to take as a binder.

I started taking a binder the day I started abx. I keep saying that the detox (and I'm doing a lot of it) isn't working. But I think that's because my impatient self expects or wants them to work right away. I do think it's all helping to shorten the length of my herxes.

I would be the same way, mm, expecting nearly immediate relief....I understand the effect of detoxing is cumulative. Which translates slow (at first).

If you aren't going to do the gene mutation test, it probably wouldn't hurt to try other detox methods, in case some of what you are doing isn't working at all.

Just keep in mind, and I don't know what that magic number would be, but there is such a thing as too much detoxing and herxing from THAT.

However, I think there would be a logical way to figure out which would add to a herx. If you compare dry skin brushing to using a sauna, the dry skin brushing is least likely.

I think its good news you herxed-sucks for a while but you know that you are on track.
