Got my second Igenex back and more confused than ever

My Lyme IgM test came back with
31 - I
41 - ++
58 - +
66 - +

My previous one is in my signature.

Babesia all came back negative. Bartonella IgM came back positive and so did the FISH test.
So what is going on? This Lyme test is even less indicative of Lyme than my first one. Right? So do I not have Lyme? I'm lost. I hate these stupid murky waters.

Would the viruses and bartonella be an indicator of Lyme? What I mean is, would those issues likely be present in someone without Lyme? I know the testing is faulty. I just worry I won't get treatment without a positive.

A LL Dr should be diagnosing clinically - and tests are only used as a back up to symptoms.

Do you have a LL Dr ?

Yes, Dr H's clinic in the Bay Area. But they didn't want to put me on antibiotics until they did all their labs and redid the Igenex. I don't know if that's because they wanted to put as many pieces of the puzzle together first or if they won't treat without it. Would I score over 100 on the Horowitz MSIDS without Lyme?

CN I think you are getting yourself worked up needlessly. I believe that want to put the pieces together from a testing perspective, and then add the clinical perspective. I'm sure you will be treated comprehensively.

Yes, I'm sure you are right. I had been praying daily for crystal clear test results and most of my labs have been very telling. I had convinced myself that for ME the Lyme and coinfections test would be accurate. Sigh. Deep breaths.

If that is truly the case then it was a waste of money to go there and they have changed their stance hugely from their chapter in Insights into Lyme Disease Treatment. That is really disappointing because if this is the case, I will not get treatment.

My phone appointment is in a week. I feel almost embarrassed to even tell anyone. I have had all these people praying for me and the labwork. And now I get to tell them it's inconclusive which makes me feel like a hypochondriac. Which has triggered the dang anxiety. Doesn't help that I'm pms'ing. lol!

Your test indicates Lyme.
Ind should be considered and you had an Ind on band 39 and 31 plus + on 58 and 41

Band 58 I believe is thought to be a European strain

CN, Have you traveled to europe? Just wondering because I also had 58 and I have often wondered if I was perhaps exposed while on vacation in europe...

People don't need to hear about the test results.
Just say that the LL Dr needs to interpret them... or something like that

CN: We all would like to have a definitive answer about all this crap we share. Unfortunately there is very little that is definitive about any of it except the symptoms of the moment. As Buhner says - treat the symptoms. There is no reliable blood testing without extensive - and expensive - methodology, and even then there aren't any guarantees. Illigimati non carborundum.

I've calmed down a ton, thanks everyone. I am sorry about my freakout. My husband came home and he was like, hey, it's GOOD NEWS that you came up positive for something! It's what we've been praying for! Now you have one definite area to focus healing on! And he told me that he still thinks I have Lyme, that this didn't change his mind and that we have more answers moving forward. I seriously love him. He can talk me down off that ledge every time. And Girlie, you are right. I don't have to give the details of the tests to anyone.
I seriously hate anxiety! I'm just an idiot. UGH.
And I seriously love you all. Couldn't face all this without you guys.
