Anxiety & Depression...normal???

I've been having a rough 2 months. I'm definitely relapsing. Is major anxiety ( can hardly sit down feel so ADD right now ) and depression normal? It's hard to remember back to when I first got Lyme...

Please advise....anything I can do?

I had bad anxiety alternating with bouts of depression really early on...to it could be part of your relapse, yes.


Are you not treating currently? If not, then you need to get back to it.

Also, try some supplement for calming: few ideas: L-theanine, Gaba, magnesium, Passion flower, Valerian ( may make you sleepy), Lavender

Oh my goodness, yes. Anxiety can be through the roof, but if it's sudden onset, it may be something that you are taking or no longer taking.

Perhaps you can reduce your meds/herbs and do some detoxing. And possibly herbs as suggested.

Yes, I had terrible anxiety and some depressive moments. It was intense... I didn't realize how much so until it was gone.

Those are pretty bad issues for me too and I believe are a result of not being able to handle stress anymore, which is another situation I'm starting to work at from an herbal direction, since avoiding it seems to be impossible.

Our immune function takes care of our daily living, our sicknesses, and the physical/mental impacts in our life.

Too many hits coming at it and ground gets lost.

Anyway, the point of my post is to let you be aware of the possibilities that are spearheading your anxiety and depression. Do what you can to avoid too much work, too much strenuous exercise, and things that push your frustration buttons.

DO allow yourself zone out time, meditation and nature time and good de-toxing methods.

- Can also add 5-htp and 5 mg Lithium Orotate to the list. Dont freak, it's a mineral and different than the huge amounts given for phyc stuff.

If its sudden onset, look to any recent changes.

Chamomile tea help too.

well, yea, but I'm talking about suden anziety/dep while already treating having lyme. Not before. Dont know the time frame of how long Drez had lyme.

All these herbs and supps lymies use can backfire on us too.

It was strange how it hit me...so quick...I thought I was losing my mind....back and forth between anxiety and bouts of depression...blech...horrible times.

Yes it is "normal" with lyme.

Lyme affects parts of our body like the thyroid and gut. These two areas have a very direct connection to our mood.

Other's have listed some herbs that help and that's great.

But are you also addressing gut health? When you have lyme and you are treating you must address this area.

Drez - Yes it happens. And one can "ride it out" being patient with treating lyme which can take a while, or address the anxiety/dep with more specific treatment after looking into the details.

But as you can tell from the comments, we'd need more details- if and what your treating, how long, any changes ect.

Not detoxing enough, the treatment plan itself, low thyroid, adrenal issues, candida yeast infection- those can cause this which can be a part of what the lyme infection is responsible for in ones different stages.

So yes, lyme can cause this, but I like to be a little more specific, which can cause confusion sometimes.
