Japanese knotweed contains large amounts of Resveratrol. This chemical slows blood clotting. It is good to avoid other medications that have the same effect, to avoid the risk of bleeding, especially if you plan taking very large amounts of JK herb or standardized resveratrol (from JK herb or elsewhere).
Some of the meds that slow blood clotting: aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), etc...
