Detox diet question

No one can tell you for sure just how long you will need to use the diet. It's all up to what all is going on with your body.

The diet is very similar to a candida diet, and when the candida yeast dies off, we get die off reactions a lot of times, particularly if you are dealing with a significant yeast infection. In this case, people have to detox more - just like we talk about for Lyme when die off happens and we have a herx reaction.

The other possibility is that you may have "over detoxed" with the liver detox herbs and the Epsom Salt/peroxide soak. Did you feel better or worse after your Epsom salt/peroxide soak? If you felt worse, then you are detoxing too fast and need to slow it down, as your body is "releasing" more toxins from the soft tissues of the body than the body can detox out fast enough. If it actually felt a little better after the soak, or there was no change, then it's more likely that it's due to fungal/yeast die off.

Traveler - I did feel better after the bath for a couple of hours. Both yesterday and today I walked about a mile and it was after the walk I started going downhill. Today, even my big toe was aching (which has happened before). I've also noticed I seem to have a few days that are harder, then a few that are milder. I'm going to try and track that better.

PeteZa - I will definitely put the moon into my tracking and see if that is something to watch out for!

I'm a little worried that if I feel this bad from a diet detox, then what's going to happen when I start treatments? I'm trying to stay positive, but after reading these books and some stories on here, it's very unsettling. I have such a full plate, and I can't clean much off it, so I think I will have to take whatever treatment path allows me to keep going, which may mean a longer plan. I'm not thrilled with that, but I don't have a choice. Hopefully doing this diet will make the treatment less harsh if I'm having stronger symptoms now. I sure hope so.

Kat, some detox methods last a long time and some not so long. I iced my head pain with an ice pack and it only lasted a wee bit. So I went swimming in an ice cold alpine lake. That made it last a little longer.

It is all a trial and error method in finding out what works for us. Just don't give up trying. You will find something that makes things easier and you will be amazed that is was something so simple!

Kat, since you have a detoxing issue you are going to have to be very slow and careful detoxing.

It sounds like you have symptoms of the toxins getting out of your body. Your doctor is cautious and obviously does not want you to hurt horribly. What a nice doc!

It hasn't been long, but give it some time. I was horrible at being patient. I thought I could power through lyme as if it were a work project.

Once I got it in my head that I was in for a long treatment, I relaxed and did a lot better.

Treat yourself as if you were your best friend. Be super kind to you and baby yourself. This is how you heal. I know, because I am such a driven person. You can't do it with lyme. You can't fool lyme either. You might think you aren't stressing, but lyme knows.

Gentle. Lots of good clearing breaths. Positive thoughts. No rushing.

I am the one that wanted to paint the word Patience on my living room wall -- hey, I was serious. I needed that more in my treatment than any medicine.

Do what you can to delegate whatever you can to whoever you can trust to do them - this will help out a lot. Enlist friends, family - anyone that might be willing to help, or to take the kids for an hour or two to give you a break once in a while. I don't know if you allow sleepovers, but they would be a great excuse to get some time for yourself, or to try to do errands or whatever.

Do be careful with the acupuncture. It's a very effective form of medicine when done by a good practitioner, and they could unintentionally make you feel worse if they do anything that may treat the infections, or overload your body with 'released toxins' that were being stored in your tissues. Just a friendly word of caution. Acupuncture was a large part of my first successful treatments.

That's wonderful that you've seen her before and know she can be of help!! As I said, it was an important part of my first successful treatments!

LOL! yeah, many of us here go through that, including me! I'm sure I can remember "that", and yet, when it comes time to actually call on that memory, it's no where to be found.....until I no longer need that information! LOL! My house is constantly 'littered' with notes and reminders.

I'm starting to believe in this diet. Yesterday and today I was much less achy. Still tired and have a headache, but that's probably from our puppy who sometimes barks too much and wakes me up too early!

I've also lost a couple pounds which is so much better than the slow gain that's been happening.

I'm trying to drill into my head PATIENCE and BREATHE, but it's really hard for someone like me!

Well today I feel even better! The first 20-30 minutes in the morning are the worse, but as far as being alert and having a minimum of achiness, this is the best I've felt in a year.

I wish I could move up my appointment and get going on treatments, but the dr wanted me on this for a few weeks first. Sigh - I should probably carry my patience angel in my purse. LOL

I know I may feel worse tomorrow, or even this afternoon, but I am going to enjoy this feeling. Normally after I've been sitting at my desk it takes me halfway down the hallway to walk normally. Today, a few steps and I'm good. Loving this!
