Any good LLMD will treat based on that. Some don't understand that even an IgG response means you have an infection that needs treatments, because the immune function is lowered during infection, so the IgM antibodies are not being produced.

EBV is an opportunistic viral infection. Most people in the US have it, whether they have symptoms or not. It never leaves the body, and the immune function is what keeps it under control.

With Lyme, particularly with late stage Lyme, the immune function is compromised to the point many times that the opportunistic infections (like EBV) that we may have or pick up, are no longer kept under control, so we end up fighting them along with the other infections we have.

It can really complicate things for some, but for many of us, antivirals or the use of Lysine will help the body keep EBV and other herpes infections under control.

No, EBV testing is fairly accurate. You just may not be producing the antibodies because your immune function is too low.

I honestly can't fully explain the 1:10 meaning. I think others might be able to though. The testing is so unreliable that I choose to use what little brain power/memory I have in herbals treatments and how to deal with herxing. LOL!

LabCorp in particular though, has a horrible track record with testing for tick borne infections, as they don't use the right testing medium or give the test long enough to 'respond' - this is not like other bacteria, it has a very slow 'growth' rate. I looked into this, because that was the only lab that my LLMD used for testing - and I was not fully CDC positive through them until I had 12 months of treatment first.

It all depends on their knowledge of EBV. Many 'regular' doctors are of little help with this stuff.
