Went on vacation and felt normal for a week. It's possible!

We had to postpone a vacation because I was too sick to travel over the summer. We went last week. I kept my son off his meds. Packed up all our herbs, powders, tinctures, supplements, food, and we went. I was really nervous about flying, traveling in general, temperature difference, food, etc...

We were all tired the first day but then felt better and better. We all slept much more, had much more energy and neither my son nor myself had our breathing thing (Babesia?) once. It was like a mini miracle.

We got stopped in customs and two armed police officers went through our bag for drugs. It was quite comical. They even took out the liner because they didn't believe us. I explained it was the herbs. It was out of a movie.

On our second day my son got stung by a hydroid, which emits toxins. Because he needs more toxins in his body! His fingers swelled up and he took Benadryl each night. I thought of Blue. I told my son about bee venom and maybe hydroids will be the cure to Lyme. We stayed in most nights but it was still worth it.

Home now to freezing temps, hands feeling a little arthritic from the extreme changes, back to not sleeping well. So far worth it though.

I missed you all and will be back to writing tomorrow.

So nice you were able to get away on a holiday!

Sounds like you went somewhere warm - I am envious!

Huddie did you all stop your meds for the week? Curious because many of us when we stop our meds lessen the die off and toxin release and feel much better. I know I felt almost normal for 2 weeks during my abx break but back on them and back to feeling like garbage!

Huddie - your husband is treating? I either missed that or I forgot.

I've been wonder for some time, since the out of town visit several months ago where he felt better, if there was a possibility there were unknown mold issues in your home...or it could be just getting away to a warm place and different scenery for awhile.

You had the same thought I did C.A.!

Warmer weather is also good for lyme. We had a week here in Chicago in the 60s recently and my symptoms were awesome! Back to snowstorm now. Huddie lets all move somewhere warm after remission :p

I have checked apt. for mold (it is minimal, meaning normal outside stuff) and we both came back negative but still wonder.

I think it is the warmth, feeling the sun, the quiet and expansiveness. NYC is over crowded, small, no fresh air. Terrible.

I'm with you JDF, instead of assisted living I'll open a Lyme house - rent rooms, community living, to bed early and whoever is feeling well does the cooking. Sounds good to me.

Girlie, yes my husband has been treating since December. He's been on Vancomycin, Flagyl, Diflucan and one other thing. He's an ox. The man can still go to work and feel fine. He is feeling it now and has been herxing but he thinks it is bronchitis. It's not. He goes back to Dr. R. Wednesday.

Peteza, Yes ouch. I felt so bad. Like he needs one more thing. He said "Mom, I must have been very bad in a past life. I try to be a nice kid and all these things keep happening."

Well you and I definitely picked the wrong place(s) to live for liking the warmth

My Lyme healing community house will be in a warm weather state. I'm creating this for my golden age. Gold will be the new green (lyme).

Almost the entire trip. The moment I got outside I took my sandals off. We all did.

I am not familiar with earthing but love the idea.

There was a very healthy cafe in the hotel we stayed at. The sweetest man helped me each day. I was worried he thought I was high maintenance (no gluten, can you remove dairy, etc...), so I finally said "It's for medical reasons not a crazy fad diet." Turns out his Mom back home has Lyme.
