Missy, I just want to let you know that I'm acknowledging your request, but will have to let this wait for some of our membership that lives in Canada to respond.

That shouldn't take too long, and I'll try to keep this bumped up towards the top for more views.

Missy, I don't believe there are any LLMD's in Canada. I believe only Naturopathic doctors are treating these infections there.

I do have a few listings for LLND's in Canada, although I do believe Girlie has more. You can send either (or both!) of us an email asking as well.

Why am I not surprised? Canada - the land of "free" health care. rolleyes

Thank you for getting back to me. I happen to live in a city with world re-known surgeons and specialty care and three teaching hospitals but there isn't a LLMD. Crazy!

As I said, Girlie will know more than I do, as she lives in Canada, but there are some really good LLND's in Canada that you could check out. Some Canadians will go to a LLMD just over the border for a time or two, then continue on with doing Skype or phone appointments every few weeks - although you will have to make a trip every once in a while to be face to face with the doctor, as the US has rules about that. It's at least another option you may have.

As mentioned, no LLMD's in Canada.

My LLMD is the States, would be about an 8 hour drive from London.

There are some LLND's in Ontario though.

If you google "Lyme ND", you'll come across a popular one. I've purchased supplements from her office before and they seemed super friendly there.

Edit: also it's not a coincidence there aren't any LLMD's in Ontario... it's illegal to prescribe medications beyond current guidelines, which state Lyme can be treated in 2-3 weeks. Special legislation needed to be passed in NY State in order for LLMD to be able to practice there. If such legislation was passed in Ontario, there would be a ton of LLMDs in Ontario. 90% of my LLMD's patients are Canadian.

Hi Missy - I am in BC, Canada...where we have LLND's who are licensed to prescribe antibiotics.
There was a LLMD here in BC - that followed a modified version of the Marshall Protocol - but he passed away recently. I don't know of any others'.

Unfortunately the ND's in Ontario don't have the ability to be licensed...not sure why.

I do have a name of a Lyme 'friendly' MD in Ontario - but not sure if he is still taking new patients.

Also, a name of a LLMD in Plattsburgh, NY that several Canadians do see.

One other option that some Ontarian's do is fly to BC to see a LLND there. It is expensive to do...but after that initial consult you have telephone appointments as follow-ups.
The most experienced LLND in B.C. is in Richmond - fairly close to the airport.
