Alcohol cravings out of the blue; dry heaves; status update

I'm feeling pretty good so far on the Biaxin 3x a day. My worst symptoms right now are weakness, can't stand for long periods, and shortness of breath.

I have had very strong cravings for alcohol lately....I'm not sure why. I've drank maybe twice since August. Seems so out of the blue. I haven't given in to them....but I could really go for a Bloody Mary right now lol nono

The other strange thing is that this morning, after walking the dog, I started dry heaving. Not a lot but a few times. It's happened before...usually in the morning after or while walking the dog. Can't figure out why.

I recall reading somewhere that alcohol cravings was a sign of Candida overgrowth.

So, I have to ask, because it's happened to me - could it be that you are craving the tomatoes that are in the bloody mary and not just the alcohol??? And, are you sure it's the alcohol and not the feeling that alcohol gives us that you are craving?? Just a couple of thoughts.

Otherwise, I would encourage you to talk with your LLMD about this. You surely don't want those dry heaves to continue. I was stuck in a loop of dry heaving while pregnant and having these infections. Boy that was rough.

Also, do you have issues with dry heaves any other time? Or just after walking the dog? If it's only after walking the dog, look for things that may be triggering it during the walk. A few things that come to mind are: things you walk by that you may be sensitive to, like flowers, weeds, chemicals... Also, could it be that your walk with the dogs is too much at that time? Like, you might be able to walk that much at different times of the day, but not then? Then I have to ask - do you have to pick it up too? If so, is it possible that the "ick factor" is just a bit too much right now?

I was thinking that I might be craving the salt or tomato juice more than anything! Maybe I'll just have a little of that lol

As for the dry heaves, it has only happened in the morning when walking the dog. It's not the ick factor lol But it usually happens toward the end of the walk, so maybe it's too much too soon (I usually get up, throw my shoes on and out we go.)

The only time I ever craved alcohol was when I realized I couldn't have it anymore with this relapse.

I googled sugar craving (in case it was the yeast crying out) and dry heaves and came up with all sorts of sites discussing low blood sugar.

Just another avenue to look at.

I would take a snack on that walk. It sounds like you might be in a hurry to get the dog outside and you are not taking care of you first.

The night before make a snack you can grab and go outside. This will help if it is a blood sugar thing. Also, I took Biaxin and had dry heaves. I had to take that drug with food and lots of water. Which eliminated the dry heaves, they became productive heaves..... yuck.

If it keeps up you might have to change abx if that is the culprit.
