Please do NOT apologize for the questions!! That's what we want you to do, because if you don't know, who better to ask than someone that has been through, or is going through, the same things?
Most people may feel some improvements early in treatment - like the first few weeks, then most start herxing (but not everyone herxes - although we already know you do). Keeping herxes low in intensity will allow you to stay in treatment and you won't suffer so much. Serious herxing can be dangerous.
In order to control the herxing, you need to be detoxing. Detoxing is nearly as individual as treatments are. I have to do a lot to detox daily, where others may not.
But the basic is that no one knows how treatment will be for them until they get into it. You know you need help detoxing from your previous herx, but no one can tell you - for example - how much or what all you might need to do. There are some basic detoxing routines that many of us here use, and those are easy and should help. You can read more in the "new to Lyme?" thread, or here:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html But, you should also be aware that you can over detox too - this is when we release more toxins from the soft tissues into our bloodstream than our bodies can detox out quickly enough. You can read more about
that here:

this topic as well!
