Where to get second lab test confirming funneliformis mosseae

Hi All,

I'm looking for a second opinion (from another MD and another lab) besides Dr. F for my diagnosis from Dr. F of funneliformis mosseae (used to be protomyxoa rheumatica). If you didn't go to Dr. F, who did you go to and what lab?

Hi Lena-

I haven't been on the forum in awhile but I was diagnosed with the same by Dr. F in Feb. He is not my regular Lyme doc but I was in AZ for cavitation surgery and had severe complications so saw him as an "interim" doctor. When I returned home to Europe my doctor here said he's heard of the fungus but it's not normally a pathogenic one. So he was surprised. He was complacent about the treatment. I started the doxy but stopped after a week because I was getting yeasty issues. I thought about pulsing. The thing I don't understand is why an ABX for a fungal infection? I brought this up to Dr F and he said doxy is a really good cyst and biofilm buster. I still don't understand. I have a wicked history of Candida and have done sooo many ABX for Lyme so I am really hesitant to do months or even years of Doxy. But he is pretty convinced this is my main issue.

Are you sticking with treatment? How are you feeling?
