LLMD and ILADS in Bay Area

Hi Lymies,

I'm looking for recommendations for docs in the California Bay Area for neurological lyme that you feel really listens, is very thorough, tracking your symptoms well and accounting for each of them? Prepares you for herxs, normalizing the experience of feeling worse before hopefully feeling better.

Also does anyone have experience with Marin Naturopathic medicine for treatment of neurological lyme?

We do have some members in the Bay Area of California - so hopefully they will be on to help you.
Not everyone is on daily, so if you don't get a response...you can type the word BUMP in a comment and that will keep this thread on Page 1.

Well that sounds like the dream LLMD - hope you get a good recommendation from someone. There are some really good LLMD's out there.

I​​f you haven't ​yet​, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. For information on finding a​n ILADS ​(International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)​ trained​ Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference.

That doctor that runs that clinic has worked with Dr. K in Seattle, so they may be well qualified to treat.

I don't have any experience with any doctors in that area, but if you wish to have names from the list that I have, please do just send me an email with the area that you are searching for and I'll be happy to share those names.

Welcome, sorry you need to be here. I just looked up Marin Naturopathic medicine and didn't recognize the names of the docs there. I live in the Norh Bay and have conducted a fairly exhaustive search in this area. Send me a pm and I'll share what I know. We're not allowed to post Dr. names on this board.
I like your criteria for a doc. I'm gonna bring that up at my next appt.

Robby-I'm in the Bay Area and have info on the Lyme dr's in our area. I'm happy to email you the info I have.

The LLMD/ND's are overwhelmed with the endless influx of new cases. Most have symptom check forms that you fill out before each appt but you still have to be your own advocate. Symptoms web and flow with this disease.

You know that treating will make you herx so ask for something to make that easier on your system. Remember not everyone herxes.

The only one I'm aware of is Dr T. M at Marin Natural Medicine Better Health Guy posted a video he did.

Hi thanks for the replies! Yes I have been reading the New to Lyme and have found it helpful.

I don't really understand how to reply to individual messages on this forum. I'd love the doc names that you two do have.

Pacific Frontier Medical is where I was finally diagnosed and am being treated. They are up to date with the latest diagnostics and treatments. They are in Foster City.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Girlie can send you a list. Also, if you send me a pm, I can put you in touch with the lymedisease.org person who has a very good list of California llmd's. I would just forward the list but they ask that we don't. She likes to keep a tight control on who gets that list. If you've read at all about the Lyme wars, you'll know why. There are a few top tier docs in the bay area.

BJD-Did you go to lyme disease.org's event in San Ramon on 4/8 and if so what did you think? I was tempted to go but didn't want to commit.

Hi Otter,

I've been going to Marin Naturopathic for about 10 months, but it hasn't been specifically for neurolyme, although I do have it. I love them; the doctors are very compassionate and the treatment is well rounded and comprehensive. They stress the importance of detoxing and have me doing a lot, but if a protocol is too much (I have 3 young kids (who also have Lyme as it would happen) and herxing TOO much doesn't work for me), they are very receptive and responsive to altering it.

I've asked about when we tackle my neurolyme and their response was that typically they do that towards the end of treatment, and I guess I'm just not there yet.

Sounds like you are getting LLMD names as well.

New here. Another Bay Area resident who may have lyme and is in desperate need of help!

After a bad stiff neck and a couple months of lightheadedness at the beginning of the year, I am now dealing with a ton of neuro symptoms including tremors, paresthesia all over, weakness, muscle pain, facial pain and numbness, etc... It's horrible.

Like others on this thread, I'd love to get some good recommendations for LLMDs in the bay. I've emailed a couple of y'all on the thread who offered to help Robby and Babygirl... Am hoping to find someone before the weekend who can get me started on treatment.

I don't know if you'll be able to get in before the week-end - often the LLMD's are booked several weeks/months in advance.
