Me and two other members of my family have seen this doctor 1 and 2 years ago. Now we are seeing another doctor. Your question?

Hey, wondering what his approach is like? How does he prescribe antibiotics? Does he pulse? What kind of testing does he perform? Also, he seems a bit integrative/holistic, but to a point? Do you have any idea if he'd look into issues such as immune system building, heavy metal cleanse, and leaky gut in addition to the common lyme/co-infections?

hannahrdog - I edited your post to remove your email address.
You can add your email address to your profile...and members can email you that way.
We don't post it on the forum - as non-members would be able to see it...and it can attract spam.

Brendoni,
I found information about
Dr.PB 2 years ago in Facebook , in Maryland Lyme support group. There were very good positive reviews about
his practice . My family did not have so much positive experience unfortunately..
For example:
1) We were in time but we had to wait 2 hours to be seen with not feeling well 7 years old child.
2) We all have MTHFR mutations but Dr.PB was not willing to discuss this matter.
3) When asked about
supplements to be used for detox he offered to sell us 2 bottles of “something”. When asked what they were he did not explain anything but said it will be enough for detox. When I went to receptionist to buy the 2 bottles of “something” – 1 bottle was multivitamins and second was pectin. Online I found the same supplements for much LESS cost.
4) We wanted to make one test from Igenix: Western Blot. Igenix price for this test was $200. Dr.PB charged $500 for this one test.
5) The child got sick from 2 antibiotics the same time (Amoxy /2 times a day + Ceftin/1time a day ). We tried to call his office for advice many times. The calls were never returned.
CONCLUSION:
We have seen 3 different Lyme Doctors in Maryland. We are having the most success with Dr.A , ellicott city , our insurance pays for all tests and medications.
hope this helps you…

Thank you ARBIII. I've heard about
Dr. A, too. Will try to see if I can get an appointment with her. Good to hear your insurance pays for the tests. Does it pay also for the visits with Dr. A?

It seems I may need to find a new doctor soon. Could I please have information on Dr. A? Last time I did a search with ILADS it did not give me anyone in Ellicott City. Thank you! (I have changed my profile to add an email address, I hope it has worked)

It does not pay for visits. You will pay for first visit ($750).Then you can have phone calls with the doctor from $80 to $200. It depends on the length of the conference(talk quickly-briefly!)
BabsBunny, I sent Dr.A web-site to your e/mail
