Anyone have weird behavior before you crashed?

I was a compulsive neat freak.. Before i could leave for work, every room had to be straightened up and tidy, then i would check every room again, then inspect the outside of the house.

What do you mean by 'before you crashed'?

Do you mean before knowing we had Lyme?

Has your OCD gone away since treatment?

I have what you describe but not as severely. I am a bit OCD with cleanliness and tidying up. Would never leave without beds made, dishes clean, etc... So far I still have them. Would love them to go away.

My son has OCDs pretty bad right now and I'm hoping they go away after he's well. He can't go to sleep unless sheets are just so, there are a million 'things'.

Crash i mean severe symptoms .. mine was acid reflux in throat, like a knife for 6 months, OCD is gone but probably because im too sick and exhausted..house is a mess..

i hope your son gets better soon!

I just listened to a podcast about how some people function well based on the neatness of their office or home. While others function better in an organized chaos.

I'm somewhere in the middle. Our house was never spotless but never a huge mess. We have 3 kids with lots of friends in and out. We always two dogs and a cat. Plus with both of working full time (before I got sick) some things just weren't that important to me.

When I got sick cleaning things just don't get done and I'm okay with that. Things that are important to me, like my gardens (which were pristine), are now dug up and seeded with grass. That has made me very sad. I can also not take care of my animals and horse which always brought me such great joy.

I'm not sure if that's what you meant but I know when our life changes without it being our choice it's just plain hard.

If you call weird behavior - running myself ragged by working like a maniac - working long hours...then after work trying to fit in a visit with my elderly father at the care home....running on 5-6 hour/night sleep...stressed out...

More like stupid behavior on my part.

Sounds like all of us also had a lot more energy and now things fall by the wayside.

Daisies are your kids OCDs better now? My son is getting worse but I think the treatment is making it worse.

I hope you are all on the mend. To messy houses!

I know that as I was crashing (severe herx), I had all kinds of weird behavior - before I was ever in treatment though, I was like the others, just pushing myself too hard. I had 2 kids at home (plus one step son - all home schooled), plus a husband with cancer to care for - not to mention a small working farm.

Otherwise, I've always been much like Laker described in house keeping - not dirty or absolute chaos, but a 'comfortable disarray' - LOL!
