Half life of Zithro

Hey All,

My Dr. prescribed zithro when I couldn't take Doxy. The half life of zithro is 68 hours for 250 mg! I need to take probiotics with the antibiotic, but if the zithro remains in my system that LONG, it will wipe out the probiotics. What has anyone done about this?? HELP!

The abx will be in your blood, but not in your stomach or intestines that long - you should be okay to take your probiotics 2 hours after you take the Zithro.

Others should be chiming in soon that have more experience the abx soon!

I used a version of the Chronic Tonic last time, but this time I'm moving along using Buhner's. I need to add in things more slowly this time due to needing to avoid stress on my body because of serious adrenal problems.

Yes, what Traveler said. The half-life is blood levels...it doesn't stay in your gut that long.
