My doc prescribed Plaquenil because I can't tolerate doxy or zithro. Has anyone had any experience with this drug?

I haven't but some LLMD's do prescribe it in addition to other antibiotics.
Will you be adding in a second antibiotic?
Was the doxy bothering your stomach? Have you tried minocycline?

Thanks. To the best of my knowledge, I won't be adding a second antibiotic. The doxy was awful...not only did my stomach hurt, but I could hardly walk. Haven't tried minocycline. I'll ask him about
it.

Is this a Lyme Literate Dr....or your regular Dr.?
You will need more than one antibiotic at a time when treating.

Hi Lena
Plaq was added to my Azith and Rifampin back in December.
I haven't had any negative effects from it (other than the usual, lol)
Hope you feel better.

Thanks VCL. Good to hear that there weren't any negative side effects!

Plaquenil alone isn't going to do much of anything. Its mainly used by LLMD's to make other abx's more effective. It's also used as a weak anti-malarial for Babesia but I've never heard anyone shake that parasite using just this drug. I'd be a bit concerned if this is all he has for you maybe you should ask what the approach is.

I agree with Rikky - You should ask what his plan is regarding adding in a second one.
