How am I supposed to get better when I can't eat what I should?

Even my old favorites chili and split pea soup churn in my gut and eventually come up along with my digestive Aid. I don't know what to do anymore. If it wasn't for my protein shakes, I'd probably be a goner.

And then there's my ongoing diarrhea. 💩.

I am such a mess. I don't know if there's any answers from me. I'd do anything just to be able to eat a piece of chicken and a little salad.

I see the doctor this week and I am looking forward to maybe getting an answer but I'm not hopeful. Sorry for the downer of a post I'm just so tired and so sick.

Wish I could eat Easter dinner.

I have blackberry tea on hand for diarrhea.

But in the olden days my great grandma would boil potatoes and have us drink the water.

If you can handle a baked potato that would be good. NO BUTTER on it!

With diarrhea you lose electrolytes and potassium and sodium are needed to be replenished. Potatoes do that in a good way.

Have you tried ginger and/or peppermint tea for the nausea?

Have you been using either ginger tea or ginger at least 3 or 4 times a day? That helped me quite a bit with my severe nausea. It also took a few really good acupuncture treatments to get it under control.

Sip peppermint tea too - it will help ease nausea too, but not as effectively as ginger usually.

Do you have too low or too high of stomach acid? You can do a home test, or ask your LLMD.

Binders should help the diarrhea, have you been using them regularly?

I don't know about the stomach acid. The dentist did a mouth test and determined​ me to be acidic. Is that the same?

I use activated charcoal and food grade de. Diahrrea never lets up. Once sort of normal "passage" in the morning, as soon as I eat, it liquidfies.

Peppermint gags me. I like ginger. Used to eat gingerballs when on chemo, but they are all sugar. I'll get some tea. Thanks.

Be sure your doctor knows this is still a major issue for you too!

I like the ginger slices -I wipe the sugar off of them, as sugar makes my intestines cramp even more. smhair

Really??? I know I grew up with docs like that, but that was because I had these infections and they didn't know what I had, so I was a medical mystery to them. But, while we may not be 'easy' patients, if you really believe that, I would encourage you to see if you can find another LLMD. Nausea is a very common issue with these infections.

I am sorry about all this - one of the more frustrating symptoms. I did better on peppermint teas and drinking broths, pureed veggie soups. Very small amounts of food at a time, throughout the day. And the medicated food powder. Horrible tasting but kept me alive, I guess.

Have you ever tried literally chewing (not swallowing) dried ginger? Chewing ginger gum? Sometimes the flavors would help me, w/out actually swallowing.

Was only going to echo that the MD needs to address this ASAP… whatever is going on in your GI is only going to prevent effective treatment and whatever other support you're trying to ingest/digest. Please ask for a gastroenterologist referral—preferably someone w/ Lyme knowledge (I got SO lucky with that).

it's my negative feelings kicking in. I guess I just think she should have figured it out by now. But then again, I know not to rely on doctors. So I'll see where adrenal and stool test factor in and go from there.

Hopefully, results will be in on wed, my appt day.

Do be sure to let her know about the severity of your nausea (as you said, how can you heal if you can provide your body with the nutrients it needs???) and be sure to let us know how your appt goes!!!!

I went through a period of very stinky 💩. Not so much now. The stool test I'm waiting for the results includes testing for c diff and other bacterias I can't even say.


So we shall see. I was on antibiotics for 14 months. Been off now for 6 months. I went through 6 months of horrible chemo, too, which certainly didn't help my gut.

I still find it amazing the oncologist never spoke.of gut health or.probiotics. I'll been trusting way too long 😐

I am SO sorry to hear that you are suffering with GI issues. I, also, have had my gut destroyed from all the meds. I've had on and off severe nausea and diarrhea. The worst of it was in February and things have gotten much better since. However, I just tested positive for C diff. From what you have described, I am wondering if you might have it, too. If you do, lets connect via email. I'd love to hear what you learn from the doctors. I am going for a second opinion Tuesday to see another gastro.

In the meantime, I've had to stop all meds. I am totally freaked from all this. Feel better!!!!!

I'm also being checked for adrenals.

Other than the sheer exhaustion I have, diahrrea, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. They are on the list of symptoms. So there's that😲

I'm so sorry this is still going on pk, it really has been going on too long.

How many of these symptoms are you having?

watery diarrhea
nausea and vomiting
headache, muscle aches, joint aches
fever, chills
sweating, clammy skin
abdominal cramps and pain
loss of appetite
weight loss

No fever, no chills, no sweaty, clammy skin, no cramps. Actually I don't have muscle or joint aches very badly, an occasional dull headache. Everything else is a yes.

I saw some family today that were freaked out over my weight loss😯. How are you doing? Xoxo

Sorry I didn't get back yesterday, I lost the link I got the list from, and then I kind of lost my thinking process.

I'm now leaning towards your adrenals causing this. Wasn't my first guess, but after a process of eliminations (pardon the pun) it's just a matter of waiting for your test results at this point.

I'm so sorry, PK!!! cry I went through that for all too long myself. Keep up the ginger 3 - 4 times a day. It took several weeks before things started calming down for me once I was diligent about using the fresh ginger tea.

I hope this resolves soon for you!!

I wanted to ask you in my last post how you are doing.

I'm watching House of Cards on Netflix again. Sleep through half of it.

My 2 good days last week were so strange. Wonderful but strange. And I did over do it. Paying the price now? Probably 😯
