We were all pretty miffed about KO's downplay of our "trendy disease" but it seems she might open up about it:

I read that article too. It seems kind of off to me. If she helped Yolanda Foster find a doctor then she was diagnosed prior to Yolanda getting diagnosed. That would mean that Kelly and her family have known that she has Lyme for over 3 years. The Osbournes have always been very public with health issues. They've wanted others to be informed. Now Kelly's said nothing-but you can read about it in her book which is available for purchase starting today.

I know that's cynical of me but if I had a public platform I'd have be on every show that would have me. I'd have gone in my Lyme attire of sweats and slippers and no makeup. If they were lucky it might have been a day I felt well enough to take a bath. If not, oh well. Even better have an IV drip going during the interview.

My post makes me chuckle since I'm on the final 20% or less of my recovery. I hate to imagine how nasty my response would have been a year or two ago. Yikes!

jrpsf - I think Yolanda was diagnosed in 2012. So about 5 years (depending on the month)

It seems 'off' to me, too if she said she helped Yolanda find a Dr. then Kelly would have had it for 5 years or longer?

I don't think Yolanda went public about having Lyme until later than that. I want to say that she kept quiet when she first joined the cast-watching that is a guilty pleasure. I remember the show airing her Lyme story during the beginning of my treatment. The top docs and clinics money could buy. This is terrible to admit but when it was in the news that she relapsed at xmas time 2013 it made me feel normal. I was still under the misconception of I have a diagnosis so I'll be well in a few months. When I wasn't and in fact felt worse-that was scary.

That would mean that Kelly was on Fashion Police and other shows with stage 111 neuro lyme (her words, not mine) fearing she would die. Uh, ok.

Yes, I started treating in June of 2013. It's hard to put a percentage on where I am but on most days I feel pretty good. My stamina still sucks. I know I need to build that up. We've hit the three B's hard the last 8 or so months and it's paying off.

I don't really blame her for not talking about it until now. Heck, I don't even like talking about it a lot of times. I'm tired of explaining it to everyone and then hearing, "Have you tried this? Have you tried that?" If you're in the public spotlight, it's just magnified.

I think she's gotten to a point in her recovery that she is ready to talk about it. I can respect that. I also think Yolanda relapsed. Maybe that's when Kelly referred her to a doctor?????

While I do think it would be nice to donate part of the book proceeds to Lyme research, it's her money, she can do what she wants. My BIL is an oil executive. He just bought his wife diamond earring that cost darn near $50K. I couldn't help but think, "I could get well with that money." But again, their money, their choice.

I don't open up much, and I don't have paparazzi in my face. If your lifestyle and reputation IS your career, one wrong move and you're the butt of jokes and a has-been.

Anyway, the headline was meant to be silly and promising since we all jumped on the I Hate Kelly wagon; thought i'd let her redeem herself, but I'm surprised at the judgment here.

BB-I'm not usually negative. I read the comments that were posted on the Yahoo article and compared to ours we're being kind. Most of the people who took the time to comment were also people with Lyme or people who'd seen the effects of Lyme.

The Osbourne's have been an exception. They have teflon. Sharon is beloved for her candor and that love blankets the kids..at least imo
