Lyme, Babesia & HBOT

I am a 56 yr old female Bookeeper/HR/Insurance specialist for my husbands small Maryland company:

2 years ago soon after my hystorectomy I began struggling with finding the right words to say. Things came out backwords every once in a while but it was getting worse as time went on. My primary suggested in later 2015 that I get an MRI of my brain. That came back and 2 doctors said it looked normal. I went to a neurologist and they referred me to another neurologist saying that I was just aging, yet I knew something else was going on.

Word finding continued to become more difficult. I began getting scared with anxiety building daily that I may have PPA or beginning stages of dementia. Soon in early 2016 I began to have problems working on the computer and researching any questions I needed with work related issues.

My husband and I decided to go get a SPECT exam of my brain in Nov 2016. Expensive and of course insurance did not cover. They had a team of psychiatrists and neurologists. The results came back showing that I had an area in my brain that was inactive (maybe a previous concussion). I was told that it may have happened due to a small stroke. This inactive area was in the area in the brain that controls speech. My husband asked about Lyme but doctors did not act. At this point I was under tremendous pressure and started to get headaches that would never go away (and still to this day have not).

The doctors said I could build my brain back by following a strict diet that would fix my gut issues, a positive attitude and taking the right supplements. Easier said than done when you feel like your life is slipping away. No alcohol, no bread, no sugar, candida... nothing except for brain fog, stress and confusion. No choice.. have to do what you have to do but does get very depressing sometimes. Lots of tears.

So after a lot of blood work I went on a strict diet and prescribed me with many supplements (40 + a day). After testing my blood for everything I went on a gluten free, no sugar, no bread diet and was referred to a another doctor who specialized in nutrition and bio-identical hormone treatment. This new doctor put me on a candida diet and I lost over 15 pounds in 2 weeks. (I am 5'9 and used to weigh 128. Now I am 115 lbs).

In December of 2016 I started a 3 day a week HBOT (hyperbaric chamber) treatments for 90 minutes each time. I had not been getting any better. I tried intravenous injections for a few weeks to see if that would help. By end of March this year I have been on Nystatin to treat yeast, Valtrex (2)X a day to treat high Epstien Bar & HIV 6 readings and supplements for anxiety, inflammation, vitamins deficiencies (D & C), thyroid issues and have completed over 50 HBOT sessions. Not getting better.

My husband spent hours researching my symptoms. He asked my doctor to do a Lyme test since a few things showed signs of lyme in earlier blood tests. The doctor informed us of a new test that just came out by Ceres Nanoscience. It cost about $400 for the test and it came back positive. From this point on it was... got to know more about lyme 24/7. Based on studying multiple books my husband and I think I have classic Babesia.

Our nutrition doctor took me off Valtrex and I am finishing Nystatin prescription up. On topical hormone treatment for the last month. I was put on Doxycycline have started researching what to do next. Healing Lyme looks to be my best bet but need a professional to guide me. We are going to see a Lyme specialist next week. Only one we could get an appointment with. This Doctor has a good reputation.

One of the doctors we were tying to get an appointment with said:

"Do not use the HBOT because it drives the Spirochete deeper making them harder to get out of the cell and into the blood stream so the body can detox and remove."

Does anyone have any thoughts about HBOT. 3 1/2 months has not helped me. We have mostly read only good things about HBOT. I really want to get better. Can not afford to waste any more time or money at $100 a visit 3X per week. Certainly do not want to do something that is making me worse. Please help. Sorry for the long post my husband helped me write it...Thank God we have each other ..Thoughts?
