I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease I don't have an appointment till May 12th but my symptoms are getting severely bad. Its mainly my neurological symptoms and my heart. The neurological symptoms are hard to explain. A lot of pressure and confusion. I go out side and everything looks so weird and hazy to me. I feel completely out of it. Plus my heart symptoms are bad. I thought I wouldn't make it through the night. It kept waking me up and I felt I was fighting to breathe. If its so bad now I'm so scared to start treatment and herx. Can someone give me any advice. Has anyone had extreme neurological symptoms??

I'm so sorry your having so many issues.

I too have many neurological issues, some have resolved with time or at least improved.

Some of my issues were head and brain pressure, headaches, backaches, twitching, many issues with my eyes, pressure, floaters, flashes etc.

When you say you feel it of it, would you compare that to feeling "drunk?"

Were you tested for coinfections? Many times difficulty in breathing can be a babesia symptom. You could compare this with gasping for breath, or even like a deep yawn. Tightness and heaviness in chest is usually a Lyme thing.

Traci welcome to the forum. I do hope you find this forum very helpful in your journey. The symptoms you speak of can, and are often linked to Lyme and some of its coinfections.

I feel not just drunk but like I'm high as well. (I dont drink or do drugs).... It's Especially when I go outside or in bright lighting places like the grocery store. Its like my mind can't comprehend things. Objects seem strange looking to me. Like if I've never seen them before. I've had problems like migraines, ringing in ears, nerve pain in face and head also numbness. But the way I'm feeling is worse than I have been.

Traci that can be linked to ammonia which can be a result of toxins. Many on the forum use Pinella, molybdenum or Dr. Jernigan's CNS/PNS formulas to help with this.

Hi Traci,
I know how difficult and frightening these symptoms can be, many of us have had similar episodes that made us feel scared also.I had many trips to the ER and hospital stays with neuro lyme. So I understand how you feel.

Please know that you are not alone and if you need to post more for support, feel free to do that. Sometimes just reaching out to others can help you get through a bad moment.

Please try not to fear treatment, it is the only path to getting better. Herxing is different for everyone, but you will learn when to back off on your treatment so you don't herx as bad. You can discuss this with your llmd also.

You can start preparing your body now before your visit by drinking water with lemon, taking Epsom salt baths or foot bathes(start slow about 10 minutes and then build up to longer soaks).

If you tolerate Milk thistle that is very good for cleansing your liver.

Eat a paleo or gluten free diet, no sugar, no alcohol.

Have you read or have access to any of the books on lyme? They can help also.

Well I just want you to know there is hope I felt like you did about 7 months ago, now I am so much better, probably 90 % better after treating with ABX, and Buhner protocol for LYme and Bartonella, and malarone for Babesia.

Thank y'all so much for all ya'lls help. I'm going to start detoxing right away so by the time I go to my appointment and start medication hopefully it won't be too bad. Just curious will the Lyme doctor tell me what herbs to take and where would I purchase them? Also since the Lyme is most likely in my head will oral antibiotics help that or would I need to have IV antibiotics?

Some Lyme Dr.'s will suggest some herbs...but others' won't.

We can help with that, though.

Amazon is a good place to purchase the supplements we need.


For herbal tinctures (for Buhner's protocols) I like to use the sources he recommends. I have purchased from both Woodland Essence and Sage Consulting and Apothecary (formerly Sage Woman Herbs)
He has a long list of recommended sources.

There are oral antibiotics and herbs that work on neurolyme.

The grocery store experience was one of my first big scares. I would walk through the store totally out of it, just like you, I felt drunk. I kept saying to myself, "I haven't had a drink in over two weeks!". Even stranger, I could hear other people's conversations like they were right next to me, but they were actually no where near me.

I can totally relate to your explanation of how you feel outside or in stores. It also feels especially weird driving for me.

If it makes you feel better, not everyone herxes badly. I have not experienced a clear herx reaction - knock on wood.

From what I have read, candida can cause that drunk-like feeling too.

Ko7 - It's nice to know I'm not the only one. It's very scary. Not only am I dealing with all these physical symptoms but now I wake up and I feel like I'm in another world. These symptoms gotten worse the past few days and came with bad depression and agitation. I was wondering if it had something to so with inflammation in my head.

For me the visual disturbances was blood sugar disregulation which spirulina helped and stopping sugar ...also treating toxoplasmosis and bartonella .the depersonalization i just viewed as a bad trip ..the dizziness was my ears and head inflammation which was relived with bvt and iv curcumin..still comes n goes with tinitus ...but hey your still walking and talking?
