the machine I have been using is the Inspirstar and it is very similar to the PDI homecare ---if you google carol mcmakin and the liberated body podcast there is a lot of excellent information about the different ways frequency specific microcurrent can help. I also tried the wellness pro type of machine a few months ago a couple of times and it did noticeably help but it also, at least at the time, was maybe too powerful or something for me as I felt heart palpitations for some time after but I did get a heart monitor to check it out and was fine. I think my body was and is getting more ATP as the research shows from microcurrent so maybe I am just not used to the energy but i am getting acclimated.
Carol McMakin has done a lot of research on microcurrent and you can get her book The REsonant Effect online, she even partnered at one time with a scientist from NIH and they could see immune changes incredibly quickly with the modality
I have had chronic pain and fatigue for 27 years for a variety of reasons and have tried a lot of standard and integrative approaches from most classes of meds, PT, acupuncture, homeopathy, antibiotics, antivirals etc and this has been the most helpful besides rest and good self care. I have a hard time breaking down chemicals so finding a modality that doesnt have to processed in liver and kidneys is great. Altho micocurrent can effect my liver and kidneys and cause some herx if toxins stored in me get broken down and discharged. I bought a home unit so I could control the quantity frequency of treatments better to find what works. It was quite the roller coaster ride at first and i am starting to find a way to feel more even with it.
As far as what is wrong diagnostically.....good question......without going into whole story right now it came on pretty suddenly after insulting events to body and have had combination of spinal issues and immune/endicrinologicaly/neuro/brain etc ones since. By the time I wondered about lymes as contributing factor I had decided I didnt want to go down that path yet too specifically because of my poor tolerance to antibiotics and anti malarials etc I first really wondered about it when I tried N-AC n-acetyl cysteine and had a terrible herx that I never wanted to experience again (head pain and sick feeling exponentially) and I read something about how that is sign often of certain coinfections....might have been the Strattons research on CPN and biofilms and babesia and bartonella, I cannot recall specifically. But I grew up in WI and we were out in the woods a lot pulling ticks off our dogs all the time and parents using cigarettes to get them to back out of us in the 60s....was just how we rolled back then....so its a risk factor. But I have been to Paul Cheney the CFS doc in the past so have tried a lot of the usual suspect treatments that folks with dif types of CFS and pain try over time.
