Heart beat becomes abnormal / too strong on lying down to sleep

Does anyone else's heart beat change from virtually silent (normal) to pounding on the bed on lying down? My BPM also goes up from maybe 60 to 80 in the process. The whole thing take anywhere from 2 to 10 mins to come on after lying down.

I've noticed that the problem is greatly reduced after I've had say 5 hours sleep. The recharge seems to greatly reduce it. As it's got worse over the last few years I also now have pains after a while when I sleep on all but my front/tummy. It's a nightmare so to speak!

I had a diagnosis of Lyme some years ago and a CDC criteria positive western blot with IGeneX etc.

Any tips on what to try for it? I don't have an LLMD at the moment.

Hi Scott. My heart rate increases whenever I stand from sitting. I have POTS from these infections.

These infections can affect our heart. Many of us have symptoms...but when checked out, our hearts are fine.


Were you ever clinically diagnosed with any co-infections? Both Bartonella and Babesia can mess with the heart.

I think you should find a LLMD. We can help you...just start a new thread titled: "Looking for LLMD in/near______" and fill in the blank.

My daugther also has POTS - which only started 9 months after her Lyme symptoms first started. Her resting heart rate is around 90! (normal is 70). The LLMD says that POTS symptoms are cause by Lyme, and should subside once she starts treatment.

This happens to me- my heartbeat is so jarring I can't sleep. It helps a little lay on my right side.

It was Babesia for me, and gradually got better with treatment.

I have found that my rapid heartbeat is almost always related to what I eat and my digestion. It was out of control for a while and has recently calmed down since I've started listening to this: https://youtu.be/Gt5yEn9KuTY at night before bed. Today, I had some new food and my heart went all crazy. I put on this video and it was calm again in a few minutes once my digestion started working properly. It may also be that all my supplements and stress relief techniques are finally working, but there does seem to be a digestion connection. I've also found taking an herbal supp called Gas Stop helps a ton.

I also had my heart beat so strongly that it shook the bed. I grew up in earthquake country in Calif, and I kept thinking we were having earthquakes, then I realized I was the only one feeling it!! It was disturbing and scary, but it eventually resolved itself.

same thing i think this caused by antibiotics induced candida .
