A friend wants to go to Germany to this clinic Kelly Osborne went to.

Anyone here try plasma or stem-cell treatments?

I think so, too bluelyme - infections need to be treated, then stem cells to repair any damage left behind.

It's called Infusio.... Lots of info on the web. As noted above I think if you're chronic or late stage the stem cells may be an option to get you past a hump in the healing process. Maybe I'm wrong and the Infusio method of immune modulation coupled to stem cells fully heals. Either way its sure to cost a lot.

Anyone know the cost of these procedures? Would they work for Bartonella and other co-infections?

25K....jjjjjjjjjjjjjjeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez luiz...I cannot believe that cost...who has 25k to throw around?? What do they do specifically in this clinic in either BH or Germany that is so expensive and successful? How long do the treatments last, what's included in the cost and what isn't? I just hate how they charge this unbelievable, unethical amount of money to sick people...but I guess your health is priceless.

I agree Girlie...you can do a lot of the therapies they do elsewhere, except for the Hyperthermia. I'm very curious about this hyperthermia treatment. What are your thoughts?

I'm not keen on the hyperthermia. I'm generally a cautious person...and it seems risky to me.

Yup, Traveler - "another remortgage" - if I'm going to do that...it BETTER work.

I"m not too keen on hyperthermia either. I have so much going on with my body, that the stress of that kind of treatment would create a lot of other, more serious issues with my body and my adrenals. I am concerned about the effects it has on the adrenals mostly - for others as well. Not that I'll be getting it with that kind of a price tag!

I haven't seen anyone on this forum post that they did the hyperthermia and healed.

In agreement with a lot of the posts, here.

Hyperthermia seems to carry too many risks for an unknown benefit.

After very cursory research into these "centers" (like Hansa) it seems like they do what most MDs don't and look comprehensively at health levels, focus on diagnostics and getting your body to heal itself. But this is what a lot of us here are doing, it's just that we're learning from the site, each other, internet and piecing it altogether ourselves. We don't have the benefit of some of the testing they do, but I believe in tests less and less these days.

I do like the concept of stem cell therapy. So maybe it's a matter of watching and observing the technology evolve a bit more.

To place cost into context... I spent $20k over a 2-yr period w/ a naturopath doing all kinds of testing, office visits, and trial-and-error with countless supplements and combinations to try to rebalance hormones, neurotransmitters, adrenals, thyroid... and very little of it worked. Little did I know, at the time, that I had several methylation and other DNA mutations AND LYME & CO. Complete waste.

So much of out knowledge about what does/doesn't work for us simply comes from trial-and-error experiences. By the time we step off this ride, we've become our own experts. I had to leave another profession to become proficient in my health. I'm a little pissed off about that.

Just to clarify, Infusio does NOT do hyperthermia. That is a different clinic. Infusio does stem cells.

Yes, it's expensive. Treatment is for 2 weeks (11 days, I think). You spend about 4 hours a day getting various treatments - ozone, IV's, etc. plus testing. I know my LLMD charges $250 for each IV treatment I get (Myers with Glutathione). I don't know how much he charges for ozone, but it's more than that. So if I did the same number of treatments via my LLMD, it would be thousands of dollars, over $5000 for sure. Plus the cost to see the doctor for hours every day. And even the "cheap" stem cell places start at $5000 just for the stem cells, and those are not the fat stem cells, which seem to be the most effective for Lyme and co. So when you add it all up, it's really not THAT much more than you would spend with a regular LLMD, and it is certainly more than a lot of us spend in a year on treatments.

It's just shocking to pay all of that all at once. I am keeping track of all of my expenses for tax purposes, and trust me, we are going to spend more than $25K this year on my treatment. And my LLMD isn't even that expensive.
