I'm going on vacation near Edgewater, FL. I have tinctures ordered but they will not be delivered before we leave. I found an herbal store close by named Florida Herb House in Dayton Beach, does anyone know anything about this store, is it reputable ? It doesn't look like they have the tinctures I need, but they do have organic powders. Would it be ok to take powders if I run out of my tinctures?

I take powdered lion's mane, and powdered kudzu - but there may be an adjustment period that you may not want to have to go through while on vacation. They are not the tastiest of means of taking them, but it works - just be sure to have lots of water handy to take powders, or you can mix them in something like organic, unsweetened applesauce or juice.

Make sure that their powdered herbs are not concentrated for easier switching. Be sure that they are of high quality herbs.

Is there a friend or family member you can have your tinctures shipped to that will be close to where you are going? Then they will be there when you get there.

I'm taking a scale and empty capsules with me. I have learned which powders I can mix in water and which ones won't stay down when mixed like that. I thought I'd rather be safe than sorry and encapsulate.

I was going to ask what questions to ask when I got to the store, but I knew you would come thru! Thanks Traveler!

I do have a friend that could send them, but I'd be afraid they'd get lost in the mail, and then I wouldn't have them when I got back either. That would be my luck, lol. Our post office has been known for loosing an entire truck of mail, well misplacing it anyway!

WOW! Okay, that's something I've not known our PO to do.....yet.

LOL! Just be sure they are good quality herbs. If someone knows of the shop, or you can also look to see what brands they carry and stick to known brands. That's what I look for as I find myself in unfamiliar stores trying to get something that I ran out of while away from home.

I sure hope that it all goes smoothly for you!! Good planning on the knowing which herbs you need to encapsulate!! I hope you have a wonderful, RELAXING vacation!!!

I hope you get LOTS of beach time!!! Just watch out for sunburns!!! That ruins a good vacation any time!

Got a big umbrella, and a big floppy beach hat (never thought I'd be old enough for one of those, lol) I'm taking sunscreen just in case, but don't really like using it.

Do you know off the top of your head if any of the herbals will cause sun sensitivities?

Not specifically, but I'm one of those that burns quickly anyway -darn those freckles and pale skin!! I have to use sunscreen if I'm going to be out in the sun for a while anyway. Glad you will be taking some along anyway - put it on at the first sign of pinkness, unless you are headed inside/covering up anyway.

I stay cold, so I've packed long sleeves, my hubby thinks I'm crazy taking long sleeves to Florida. I normally tan pretty good, but haven't had one in a few years, so there's no telling anymore. However, I am a big WIMP when it comes to a sunburn. Definitely don't want that.

I used to stay freezing cold all the time too - until I didn't! LOL! Now, I'm usually the warmest one in the house! A massive change! I still love the warmth of the morning sun though. I hope all that sun helps you to warm up nicely each day!!!
