As for herxes, I followed dr. K's practitioners, so we took a lot of chlorella ( A LOT MEANT A LOT!!), my little girl was taking CGF too (to detox the brain), bear garlic tincture, and we added homeopathic detox.
We went then more smoothly, even though with ups and downs with herxes.
There are so many other options to antibiotics, and that is what I would go first, always with binders together (like chlorella, if he stands that). Some like DE, clay, chlolestyramine... Always give him good clean oils (like fish oil, for protecting the brain, or flaxseed oil, or other omega 3 oils..). I think dr. K has good suggestions.
If the boy takes a lot of binders, life goes almost as normal, in spite of antimicrobials. Dr. K also recommends a high protein diet to help detox. I do think he is right, as I was craving all oily high protein foods during herxes (even candida herxes). All are neurotoxic, and some oily foods and proteins bind to them.
We had a KMT, a micro current device with Rife frequencies. It was not as strong as Rife, but much milder, like a TENS machine. I no longer use it, because we no longer have lyme, but it was useful in the past.
today I have my own protocols (like buhner's herbs, some Cowden tinctures, and Chinese herbs), homeopathic nosodes, stuff like that.
We used to use garlic (frozen garlic from dr K), but today I would try food (like kimchi, that's got a lot of alicin too, but fermented). I can't say which is stronger as we don't have lyme anymore to comprae. In the past, I didn't do kimchi at home, so we had to rely on freeze dried garlic.
Kimchi is strong, and gave us all herxes even though no one had lyme anymore. I think it does deal with candida and many other things in the gut.
Of course we added propolis, other bee products too. The list was huge, but all we took was natural, except for supplements. Magnesium citrate, we never missed it either.
Don't stress yourself with other children, for the moment. Go one step after another.
During lyme, I could not have another child. I could barely walk. Zero sex for months, as I could barely take a shower, so weak I was. I lost teeth to lyme, almost all my hair turned grey in a couple of months.
When I finally healed, I was too old for having another child. I anyway find it challenging just with one girl. She had never been too strong, so we are always trying new treatments, diets.
She had an accident a couple of years ago, after lyme was gone, and lost a tooth. The dentist put the tooth back and did a root canal. Well, that tooth is causing her problems now.
She also has to live on a gluten free diet, even on a casein free diet. Social life is not as easy either, like that. So, really, don't stress thinking about
one more kid now. Go step by step, heal your son, heal yourself, then plan later. That is what I would do...
