Seeking LLMD in MD/VA/DC/PA who takes insurance

I see Dr J in DC. Although he doesn't take insurance, his staff will assist with insurance needs. They wrote me a letter of medical necessity for IV treatment within one day.

But my insurance seems to be very good and submitting what I get from his office to my insurance company has not been a problem getting things paid for.

I am also very lucky that my insurance covers all the tests he orders and the prescriptions he writes.

The thing with his office is that it is one price for iv therapy if you have insurance and another price if you don't have insurance. In other words, having insurance that pays for iv therapy doesn't save me one penny in his office.....I still wind up paying the same amount out of pocket. With my lyme brain, I can't comprehend why....so I let my hubby think about that part and he works it all out. (although we have put iv therapy on hold for now to see if orals can get the brain stuff). So for now, I pay the office visit and submit to my insurance company. My ins pays for my prescriptions too.

I have UHC. I know each plan is different. They will reimburse my doctor's visits and such, but they apply it to my out-of-network deductible, which is crazy high, so we'll never meet it.

Are you on Facebook? Most local areas have a Facebook page which is a good place to get doctor referrals, including ones who take insurance or at least work with insurance.
