Vancomycin experience

given the brain fog on top of the diarrhea sounds like pathogen die off to me. hard to say though. having diarrhea that much is not good it robs your body of nutrients/fluids amongst other things.

since its been 3 days i would call your doctor about it.

Definitely stay hydrated. That much diarrhea can be life threatening. You must drink water and if you can get some electrolytes in you.

If you can't reach a doctor, you probably should stop the meds and wait until you can talk to him. Is his office open? He must have someone in there that can help you or at least a referral to another doctor???

Sounds pretty intense! Sorry about that. I'm taking vanco IV for bart - not c-diff. But I agree with the others that this sounds like die off (which is good - the brain fog is a major clue). The vanco is probably dealing with other gut pathogens, as well so the die off can be intense.

And you need to replenish fluids as much as possible - gatorade, Emergen-C packets (the electrolytes version) w/ water, or just lots of water - maybe add a little it of salt & sugar. If you have serious diarrhea again tomorrow or Wednesday, please get to any MD ASAP and get looked over - you don't want this out of hand.

Also, try incorporating a binder (I don't know why binders aren't prescribed w/ abx prescribed for local bacteria issues but they should be) like activated charcoal, bentonite clay, psyllium husk, cholestyramine but again, with lots and lots of water. And be sure you keep a 1 hr buffer from anything before the binder and 2 hrs after taking the binder.

For brain detox - a lot of us are taking Nutrimedix Bur Bur and Pinella tinctures, which really help with symptoms like brain fog.

So glad the diarrhea has stopped.

I think you're verging on yeast/fungal imbalance now, with the vnaco. Do you have any antifungal Rx in the house? If so, take it. If not, pls call your MD first thing in the AM and get either a systemic (diflucan, ketoconazole which are easy -or- pure nystatin powder which could be challenging if MD isn't open to learning about it because most aren't aware of it). But get on one ASAP.

Also please incorporate milk thistle seed or burdock root or a cleanse to support liver/kidneys. And drink TONS of water.

And w/ antifungals you really need to be on that binder I mentioned - get the dead debris out of your GI.
