Question about abx switch from doxy to zithro? Feeling very energized, unsure why

UPDATE:

I switched my abx over from doxycycline to zithromax two days ago. After a long headache and a small dizzy spell, I feel completely different already, compared to while on doxy.

I have a huge amount of energy.. feels as if I've been drinking coffee all day both today and yesterday. My brain fog is gradually feeling better (I think..it is hard to tell). Since Saturday, I have been drinking lots of lemon water, and detox tea, so I'm wondering if that is why I am so wired? Or maybe it is the Zithro?

I'm not used to being this energetic, even before lyme I never had this much energy! It's hard for me to calm down and fall asleep at night.

Any thoughts why I feel this way? Thanks, all smile

Lyme is a roller coaster...... There are "good" days and "bad" days. And it is a crap shoot which it will be. Cherish the good days and don't overdo it.

That was my problem..... I felt wonderful, like I was well, and I would overdo it and crash for 3 days.

What else are you pairing with? Zith has some effect on babs ,cpn ,bart and a little on lyme .its bbb penetration is minimal but it has a really long half life and is usually well tolerated . Enjoy the energy. Im jello

bluelyme - Zithro is the only antibiotic I'm taking currently. My LLMD suspects Bartonella

A number of things could be going on - of course the switch to a new abx could be just what you needed, and it's working pretty well for you, especially with the added detoxing (yes please, keep that up!!)

Or, it could be more related to the detoxing directly - either way, I would encourage you to keep the detoxing up and continue on!

And, congratulations on feeling so much better!!! Keep track of it though, so that you know when what happens, just in case this is temporary. It may give a lot of clues watching this pattern. But I do hope that it means you are well on your way to healing!

Thank you for sharing this. I am developing a plan to cross from Doxy, Biaxin, and Augmentin with Tinidazole pulse to shift to Zithro, Mino, and Rifampin with or without Tini.

All of the input helps!!!

I am wondering what the most common reasons people stop Zithro.
I noticed that Girlie was on it for just a month.

I started the drop Doxy add Mino today with just 50mg and that was hours ago and I don't feel anything so I am going to take the other half of the pill.

a bit light headed now. That's better. At least I know it's doing something.

CA - I stopped Zithro because I ran out.


One of the things I don't like about it is it's incredibly long half-life...so if you have a bad reaction..it will take several days to get out of your system...and even longer if you've been on it for more than a few days.

Oh...adding:

It also has the risk of Long QT Syndrome attached to it...that's another reason.

Good to know as I have hit a progress wall with Biaxin and although I continue I will likely cross over to Zithro at some point. Thanks as always and glad you're feeling better!
