Rosacea - antibiotics with herbs?

Did you get the rosacea after lyme? I was actually diagnosed with rosacea subtype 2 but it ended up going away completely after a month of minocycline. Yes, you can take doxy with herbs. When I was on antibiotics and herbs I would take the herbs first and wait maybe 10 min and then take the doxy. I'm sure you can take them at the same time but in my head I was giving the herbs a head start (-:

I hope the doxy works for your Rosales.. UNBELIEVABLE HOW EASY IT IS TO GET IT PRESCRIBED FOR ANYTHING BUT LYME!!

OK - sorry, rant over.

Anyway - if the doxy doesn't work let us know. I went down this road a few yrs ago - did a lot of research about it. And for some rosacea (again, that sx seems to be a catch-all for similar sx but from very different causes). My "rosacea" only got worse with abx - so I can share my experience if you like.

I'm surprised that your lyme abx didn't help to Rosacea, or will you only treat lyme with herbs?

When I started Lyme tx way way back, I started with Biaxin/Plaq combo. On my first follow-up visit I told my LLMD that that I thought was a light case of rosacea was clearing up since starting treatment. He commented that Biaxin was commonly prescribed for the rosacea as well, and as I teenager I was on Tetracycline long term for acne problems.

I'ld expect that an anti-bacterial herb would also help with rosacea too.

If you are going down the herbal only Lyme protocol, then why did you agree to taking doxy for the rosacea?

tick bite, I agreed to do the doxy for rosacea because it is very lose dose.

Sorry it's taken me so long to post my 'rosacea story':

Throughout 2013 I was suffering from chronic sinusitis/bronchitis and cycling through 8-9 different MDs and their prescriptions for various abx. None of it worked, in fact I got worse. I finally figured out on my own it was a fungal issue and bought some antifungals from a foreign pharmacy and presto - a few days later I started feeling awesome.

But my body had MAJOR problems from all the abx I was on. Now, this was before I knew anything about anything regarding gut health and abx, Lyme or really yeast/fungals for that matter (although I was slowly getting up to speed on the y/f).

And, as I tried one abx after the next, I developing worse and worse yeast/fungal overgrowth sx but had no idea that's what they were. Of course, it all started in my gut and spread up through my throat and into my head... and exacerbated the yeast/fungal issue causing the bronchitis/sinusitis. Or maybe the other sx were due directly to the abx - I'll never know.

These sx included red, agitated, raw, itchy face/neck and areas of my scalp. I also had what looked like acne but wasn't (they weren't pimples - they were watery when I broke open the skin) and acne doesn't generally itch (although products used on them can create dry itchy skin).

At that time I migrated to a medical-oriented forum all about rosacea and learned more than I ever wanted to know. My few months scouring those pages proved to me that a) dermatologists are one of the least flexible and inquisitive medical practitioners, b) most rosacea is also a clinical dx and there's little rhyme or reason for dx and c) most rosacea sufferers are told it's incurable and are provided no relief.

And after migrating on to other natural-oriented forums, I learned that d) most "rosacea" is actually due do something that isn't supposed to be there - either bacteria or, even less frequently dx or understood, a yeast or fungal overgrowth or demodex.

So - I might be able to help you a little better if you described what you're calling rosacea... unless you've already tried some of the great suggestions provided by other members and have made progress!
