one week down of levaquin, rifampdin and tindemx. No herx but symptoms are so bad I am losing ability to walk. twitching is at all time high! gonna go for one more week and insist on IV vanco.

Tcoach - that is a herx. A herx is defined as an increase in symptoms or new symptoms appearing. I would encourage you to increase your detoxing and maybe even lower your doses for a few days also so that your body can catch up with the detoxing it needs to do.

A herx is not specific symptoms for all of us, like achy flu like feelings. It's the increase in any symptoms or the appearance of new symptoms. For many it is flu like feelings, but for some, like me, I'm more likely to have increased Neuro issues than a flu type feeling. I've had Psych symptoms as a herx too, so it's not just physical symptoms either.

I have never had achy flu symptoms...not even when I herx.


I do get an increase in my shivers (I'm assuming it's chills?) - on some treatments...but not all.


Mine are usually an increase in my regular symptoms, plus sometimes a few new ones thrown in.

Ok so I have developed over the last 2 days almost sore muscle areas of my legs. They have been weak for a while. Herx also?

Yes, most likely simply because you are in a herx. Any symptom can be present during a herx - they are just more noticeable/severe - or you may get some new symptoms during a herx. I have some symptoms that only show up as a herx, and many that are there anyway, and get more severe.

I raised a dose of one of my meds yesterday, and I had such serious hip and low back pain that I was awake for about 3 hours in the middle of the night last night before I could get it to calm down enough that I could get back to sleep.

You may want to use a binder for a few days to get this to settle back down, as well as increasing whatever you do for detoxing normally.
