Well, nuts. For once, I'd like to provide something helpful for you! You've done a lot for me. Let me get back to Google. Any rough idea how long ago it might have been and/or who might have been on the thread?

I don't know but I know someone with B. Duncani, Chlamydia (negative Trach oddly enuf but high antibodies), Myco Pneu,& Bb who is suffering and a doctor put him on high iron and Doxy. I don't know what the plan was b/c he doesn't see that doc anymore.
The Babs is consuming iron at such a clip that he takes a large amount over 60 mg per day and it interferes with the doxy.
If he comes off of the iron he gets nausea. I feel bad for the guy. He is definitely anemic.
I think the doc was trying to keep the Babs busy with the iron, but he may have placed the person in a catch 22 because Iron binds the Doxy, and possibly made things worse.
He is done with these docs and I cant say I blame him.

Wow. I can't blame him either. Interesting theory.
I'm investigating the anemia for my mother. I don't think she has any TBD. My grandmother almost died from it - the MDs simply couldn't find her blood leak. And I remember reading/seeing in video something about
a hidden source of anemia. ugggghhhhh I hate memory loss.

P - Maybe it's not a blood leak but a malabsorption issue with your mom?
That was the reason my son had low Ferritin and hemoglobin for years.
Small intestine is where absorption happens.

Maybe - I hadn't thought of malabsorption. I don't know what the MDs did w/ my grandmother - she was so close to dying and that might have limited her options. But my mom is not so I'll look into that.
So - do you know the mechanisms of how and what is absorbed and where and why? LOL Sorry, I know you are busy so if it's complicated, I'll go look it up.

Okay, no one said that there would be a quiz! Do you happen to remember any key words at all? A google search may be a better way to go than through the forum site if you do.
Do you remember who posted about
it?

I doubt this is it, as it's an older thread than you were looking for, but it seems to have some good information in it about
anemia:

I did some searching last night-no real luck but I did find a lot of articles around the Lyme community that connect anemia and Hashimoto's. Ring any bell's?

Thanks T! nope, that's not it.
Thanks jrpsf... you gave me an idea... someone posted about
a rather known naturopath who was interviewing or was interviewed by another naturopath and they did a blog about
gut health, endocrine and one of them had lost a bunch of weight but I can't remember why... maybe that was it - they did talk about
Hashi's... I wonder if I can find it.
