Tingling, paresthesias anyone?

Hi everybody,

Paresthesias, "Tingling or prickling, “pins-and-needles” sensation; usually temporary, often occurs in the arms, hands, legs, or feet."

Several years ago before Lyme I developed an intermittent paresthesia in my left arm. I always figured it was related to collateral damage from a frozen shoulder back in 2007. Now I'm wondering if maybe it was subclinical Lyme.

Now my left arm is tingling again after a long hiatus. Also getting intermittent paresthesia on the right side of my head around the temple and forehead. The head paresthesia doesn't last but an hour max, but the arm tingles much of the time. . I realize they're not uncommon with TBD but they are rather disturbing, especially the facial.

Do/did you have these?

Do they affect just one or two areas or do they randomly move around?

Are these paresthesias harmless?

I'm mainly treating babesia though the cats claw and stevia in mc-bab-2 also cover Bb as I understand it. Maybe it's a herx?

I developed frozen shoulder several months after lyme hit my left shoulder blade, radiating down my left arm and hand.
I had tingling, numbness, weakness, and now I have nerve pain.
It is my WORST symptom of all.

So, my frozen shoulder came after my nerves were attacked.
Still rehabbing with physio...mobility - about 98%...and strength about 70-80% now. Pain still quite bad.

My physio told me that I possible had a little less mobility on my left side anyway prior - we're not always equally balanced.

Lately - since Babesia treatment - Ive had some tingling on my left heel which is new and also on my right shin.

I'm not sure if it's a herx...or if the treatment stirred up the Babs buggers.

At this point, it's not my worst symptom. I'd swap the fatigue for this any day. Yours must be bad. Mine aren't too painful, but any nerve symptoms are disturbing.

I thought babesia symptoms were head and constitutional. That's what puzzles me about this.

I think there is a lot of overlap.

Since Babesia treatment, I have had new symptoms arise...like it's reaching some 'pockets' of infection.

Mine is bad...but I don't (never had) the fatigue as a symptom.

Yes, I had it off and on ... mostly on for a couple of years. It occurred on my right side hand/arm, foot/leg, sometimes side of torso, and right side of face. about 2 and a half months ago I started Doxycycline and within a week it was gone!

I've had full body neuropathy for the last 3.5 years from Lyme and co-infections

Yes I also had it. Face, neck, upper chest,arms, legs, torso and buttocks. Loads of fun. I feel blessed as treatment has so far ended all of those nasty symptoms.

I am eight months into treatment now, but those were the some of my worst symptoms the first few months as they were accompanied with severe heavy numbness also. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't return...ever.

Glad they're better Jo and Mareish. You both had them all over your body. Were they all occurring simultaneously? Constant or intermittent?

Fingers crossed for both of you they are gone 4ever.

As I said mine aren't severe, just worrisome. I worry they are from some other gawd awful neurological disease, though that's probably nonsense. Since I've passed from "middle age" into whatever you call mid 50's to early 60's, I fear that every little health blip heralds impending doom.

I had it the worse in the late afternoon and evening . It came in waves ,usually a major heat flush would occur sometimes right before and during them.
So it wasn't constant but it was consistent every night and occasionally during day if I had increase in any stress.

Had pulsing/thumping sensation with it too.

More than one Neurologists ruled out more common and rare neuro diseases, brain tumors,MS etc.

Started getting better after I was finally given Doxy last Sept. and started treating with Buhner and abx with an LLMD.

I know Lyme and co can cause these symptoms. But if it eases your mind and to be sure its not anything else, you could speak to your llmd about it and see if they suggest going to a specialist.

In a way I am fortunate because I had so many mri,cat scans,nerve conduction, neurological, heart tests etc that were all negative so I am not as worried anymore like I was early on but it sure was unsettling back then before I knew what I had.

I'm in my 50's too, so I understand how you feel. The good thing is hopefully we are eating better, building our immune system up and we will be healthier when we finally beat this thing.

Mine were not always simultaneous and, yes, they were intermittent. They varied greatly.

With the myriad of symptoms, I often found myself searching the internet for answers. According to what I read online, many of my symptoms are similar to those of menopause, so for a few years I have chalked it up to that. Have assumed I am just a wimp and can't handle menopause.
