I just started taking probiotics again. Sometime in the fall I started having issues with food. I have had them before - like sneezing when eating sugar, or heart racing when having dairy (while being sick with lyme and or candida), but this was something new and awkward. After eating gluten rich foods, I would get a lump feeling in my throat. Several times I was mildy choking on rice, apples, and pretzels. I am always swallowing mucus now, and it seems as though I have become intolerant of gluten. I was trying to figure out if it was bc I was eating too much of it when I wasn't supposed to (my dr told me i should try to remain on the anti-lyme diet for life, and may have to do so otherwise symptoms may arise again).
I do think I have digestive issues with gluten and or foods in general bc if I eat anything with oil I burp like a maniac and I have had loose stools for months. I just ordered a round of digestive enzymes, but I am starting to think that maybe there is lyme/bart bacteria in my gut rather than just plain old digestive issues. I went to the ENT and he confirmed that I have atypical reflux (reflux without the heartburn symptoms) My older daughter is refluxing anything related to the anti-lyme diet as well, gluten and dairy mostly. Just started for her out of the blue when I reintroduced some Buhner herbs (I did that to help her mood - long story but those herbs really work for her).
